If you "feel better" when you drink alcohol, I wonder if it means you have thick blood and poor circulation. The alcohol would thin your blood and thus, theoretically, make you feel better.

Have you checked your heart rate from sitting then standing? Take a look at Pots Syndrome information.

Wow, lots of people with the same problems here. I can relate - I've been dealing with shortness of breath/air hunger, lightheadedness, dizziness, brain fog, numbness in limbs, muscle twitching/jerking all over, bouts of muscle weakness, head and ear pressure, chest pressure/pain, and occasional drenching night sweats. It's been affecting me for over a year now and I'm getting incredibly tired of it.

I've had just about every medical test in the book done trying to figure out the issue....MRI of the brain, chest x-ray, chest CT scan, EKG, Echocardiogram, Pulmonary function test, EMG, nerve conduction study, thyroid, and all sorts of bloodwork. Everything keeps coming back normal.

MS and Lupus have pretty much been ruled out. A couple of docs think it's anxiety and it's all in my head, but I truly don't believe it. I've never been an anxious person. I tried Ativan for a while based on one doctor's recommendation and while it felt quite nice, it didn't alleviate my symptoms.

When Googling my symptoms, I would always see lyme disease come up, so a couple of months ago, I decided to see a specialist and got tested for it. The test came back positive, so now I'm treating this "thing" as if it's lyme with a combo of antibiotics and herbals. So far, my symptoms haven't gotten much better. There's a fair amount of controversy around Lyme disease, so I'm still a bit skeptical, but I'm going to stick with the treatment for awhile, because frankly I don't know what the hell else to try.

If you have similar symptoms and you've ruled out everything else, maybe look into lyme, especially if you've spent a fair amount of time in wooded areas or remember a tick bite.

I read somewhere that lyme disease could be responsible for the spacey feeling though i havent been tested for it. I have had every test, scan done, and seen multiple specialists including neurologists, ENT's, chiropractors, and changed primaries a couple times for the spacey feeling. I spent the morning in the ER for it since a head cold seems to have magnified the symptoms. I followed through with what a few people mentioned on this board about chronic sinus problems. I started taking decongestants and antibiotics a few months ago. My primary would not give me the antibiotics after seeing nothing wrong with my sinuses so i bought amoxicillin (fish mox) from the internet. Its basically the same amoxicillin given to people in capsule form. It cleared up the heaviest part of my spacey symptoms and made me feel like i was running on at least 90% of my full mental capacity versus the 60 or 70 that i was feeling before taking those two meds. I followed up with an ENT who could find nothing wrong with my sinuses. He suggested an allergy study. The spacey feeling has changed in the past weeks. Other than feeling "out of it", it feels like my mental stability has fractured. The doc in the ER suggested i have a sleep study done to see if i am not reaching the right levels of sleep patterns. Im ready to try anything at this point...

Your story mirrors mine exactly from symptons to MRI's,ECG's, Neck Doppler scans, numerous blood tests - etc , that was in 2012 - i even "forced" the ENT to give me a sinus op i was so desperate … again a waste of time ! Good news is i am 100% now - Eventually i found a DR. who prescribed me Fluoxetine 20mg , one tab a day…basically prozac.I am in no way a depressant if fact the opposite , such was my surprise at this diagnosis - 2 years on and perfect- good luck

davyboy1980Here's the thing. Lightheaded n tired could be related to anti depressants or too much sleep or vitamin n mineral deficiency. Try a strong multi vitamin and less napping or excessive sleeping ;-)

I was just at the drs for similar symptoms, I feel like I am in a dream, people talk to me but I do not remember the conversation when they walk away...I get a thumping in my ears, my pulse whooshing and then the lightheadedness, I tried to explain it to my dr, I said it's like a tv channel off air, that sound...that is what I hear in my head...I had these symptoms 10 years ago for 8 long months and had mri's an mra, cat scans, artery studies, heart studies and blood tests for multiple things...nothing was ever discovered...now 10 years later it is back to haunt me...I feel like my heart is pounding in my chest, yet it's only going 54 bpm during these episodes...it is scary and I for one feel like I am going to stop over dead and no one can figure this out! today I had an accident in my car and I don't even recall the woman in front of me being there, I did not even realize I hit her at first...I did not black out but it was one of those lightheaded foggy moments! anyone get diagnosed with anything yet?
