Hi. I am a guy 54 years old and I found out that my blood pressure is too high. What can I do to lower it?

Normal blood pressure for most adults is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Drug treatment is recommended if your blood pressure is at or above 140/90 mm Hg. High blood pressure can be treated with drugs like Zestril but can also be treated with exercises and low fat diet. I used Diltaizem, lisinopril, used verapamil, toprol xl which was the worst of all, (they can cause glucose & cholesterol to rise). Now I am using this new one. It is called clonidine. And the only side effect so far is sleepiness. And since one of my other side effects with other drugs was insomnia, I really don’t mind. I believe this is a good one. But, every drug is different for each user. Good luck with the search.
