I am really hoping that there is someone who knows something about ferrets on this forum! My ferret developed a lump on its muzzle recently and I am quite concerned that it could be a tumour. So is there anyone who can tell me how to differentiate between tumours and other things?

As a rule, tumours are hard and attached to either skin or underlying muscles. Your best bet if you want to know for sure is to get your ferret to a vet though. I mean, they do bite a lot and it is entirely possible it is an abscess resulting from dirt that got under the skin after a small injury. If that is the case, it will just have to be drained.
