I am 24 years old and recently discovered an unusual size lump on my scrodum. It is itchy at times, but the pain is almost unbearable, to where I have to lay face down now to not feel the pain. This has been progressing through a period of about 4 days now. At first I thought it might be a hemrhoid or something, because I get them often. I recently had my prostate checked though and everything was fine. This is really worrying me, because I am only 24, I didn't think this was normal until I read other posts on this similar topic. But I couldn't fine an answer that quite matched what I am experiencing. I am going to see the doctor in a couple of days, before this gets any worse. I just want to know if I should be worried at all.

Hey there,
I had similar bacterial infection on my scrotum last summer, but I cannot remember I had a red point. It was a first sign of the epidydimis, bacteria which causes redness and painful swelling called epidydimitis. It cause infection of the urine and they reach the testicles by traveling up through the penis. It could be confused with a twisted cord, as both cause a swollen and red scrotum. I was on antibiotics cure a couple of weeks and than it has gone.
It's the best way to be examined by GP. So I think pseudonim has right, go to ER if needed, but check yourself if it hurts so much.
