Hi, I had a microdiscectomy spine surgery few weeks ago, and I didn’t have to stay in the hospital. I quickly returned to my daily activities. However, I still cant lift, bend and twist. Patients’ feedbacks related to microdiscectomy would help me understand better how this surgery works and how to deal with it.

Hi, I had microdiscectomy surgery two months ago, and I recovered well. However, I didn’t have problems with spine like you, but with my leg. Microdiscectomy is even more effective for treating leg than a spine, and it is called radiculopathy. I had the impingement on the nerve root, which caused a strong pain. However, microdiscectomy surgery was very effective and it relieved pain successfully. Before this, I tried with some other methods, but they were not effective enough. You were lucky that you didn’t have to stay in the hospitals. Unfortunately, they kept me for two days because my blood pressure wasn’t good. Microdiscectomy surgery is successful in 95% of cases, so I wasn’t worried too much.
