Hi there
I had a full face, neck and brow lift nearly 11 weeks ago and my face and neck seem to be getting tighter and tighter each day. It has given me major anxiety as it is all I can think about and feels very uncomfortable. Every time I move my face it feels so tight and even feels uncomfortable to swallow. Is there anyone who has experienced this ? Would love to hear from someone who has
thank you

Hi, Michelle.
It is common to experience tightness and swelling after a full facelift surgery. This is because the underlying tissues and muscles have been manipulated and repositioned, which can cause temporary swelling and discomfort.
The tightness you are experiencing may also be due to the fact that your skin has been pulled taut over your newly positioned tissues, resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. However, it can take some time for your skin to fully adjust to its new position, and you may experience some discomfort or tightness during this period.
It's also possible that you may be experiencing nerve damage or muscle tension, which can cause tightness and discomfort. Your surgeon can evaluate your symptoms and determine the cause of your tightness.
It is important to follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions carefully and attend all follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and recovery. If you have any concerns about your recovery or experience significant discomfort, be sure to contact your surgeon right away for guidance.
Have you had any follow up?

Hi, again.
In addition to taking the antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor, there are some other steps you can take to help alleviate your pain and promote healing:
- Rest and relax: It's important to give your body time to heal. Avoid any strenuous activity or movements that could aggravate your symptoms.
- Apply warm compresses: Applying a warm compress to the affected area can help ease pain and reduce inflammation. Make sure the compress is not too hot to avoid burns.
- Take pain medication: Over-the-counter pain medication such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help relieve pain and reduce fever if you have one.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and fluids to help flush out any toxins and keep your body hydrated.
It's important to keep an eye on your symptoms and contact your doctor if you experience any worsening of pain, swelling, or fever, or if you notice any signs of complications such as discharge from the wound site or redness spreading beyond the immediate area of the incision.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
