Hi, guest.

Nickel allergy is a common allergy, and it is possible for a person with a nickel allergy to have an allergic reaction to braces that contain nickel. The allergic reaction can manifest as skin irritation or a rash, and in some cases, it can cause pimples all over the body.

Here are some steps you can take if you suspect that you are having an allergic reaction to your braces:

Speak to your orthodontist: If you suspect that you are having an allergic reaction to your braces, it is important to speak to your orthodontist. They can examine your braces and recommend alternative materials that are less likely to cause an allergic reaction.

Use anti-allergy medication: Over-the-counter antihistamines such as loratadine or cetirizine can help to relieve itching and reduce skin irritation. Your doctor may also prescribe topical corticosteroids to reduce inflammation.

Practice good hygiene: To prevent the spread of bacteria and reduce the risk of infection, it is important to maintain good hygiene practices. This includes washing your hands frequently, cleaning your braces regularly, and avoiding touching your face.

Avoid triggering factors: If you are prone to allergic reactions, it is important to avoid triggering factors such as certain foods, chemicals, or other materials that can cause an allergic reaction.

If the pimples persist or worsen, it is important to speak to your doctor. They may recommend additional tests or refer you to a dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment.
