Hi, I have been taking Norethisterone for approximately 4 years to prevent monthly periods due to having fybroids which bleed excessively. On visiting my doctor with symptoms of the menopause he has advised that I stop taking Norethisterone and report back to him on the bleeding that occurs and how the menopause symptoms are occuring.
i stopped taking the drug 3 weeks ago expecting to have a period within 2 or 3 days however, I have not as yet had a period or any symptoms to suggest that one is on its way.
I am 43 years old if this helps.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lesley, I am thinking that if you have stopped taking the drug that it's possible that you are actuallly experiencing the symptpoms of menopause like you stated you are, and I think that's what's causing you not to menstruate at this point. Do you think that might be a possibility?
