On depo Provera for 2 years, never bled until now having breakthrough bleeding?

I was wondering if you may have found anything out? I've been on the shot for 4-5 years now. Never once got my period or any bleeding but now its everyday. It may stop for a while but it always seems to pick back up. It's mostly happens right after sex

I've been on Depo for 15 yrs and never had any bleeding or break though bleeding until this week, I'm wondering if its because I started taking HCG oral drops. I feel aweful & tired. Like I forgot what having a monthly is like. It's not normal bleeding though. It's really dark and comes & goes in burst. Your post was the first I seem that mentioned diet meds & I was thinking it had to be it. Thanks for sharing & helping me at least feel a little less worried about what my body is experiencing. Btw I'm set to have an endometrial ablation next month because I'm getting close to 40 & my OB says I've been on Depo for a bit too long already. Again thanks for sharing your story.

Im having the same problem, I'm 21 and have been sexually active for around 2 years. I've been on the Depo for roughly a year and a half and stopped my periods immediately after the 1st injection... i am having unprotected sex but i feel safe doing it as the Depo is a really effective birth control method! I am now experiencing a Brown sticky discharge, only now and again for the past few days but is really worrying me. I've not had any bleeding what so ever, i missed my Depo injection 6 months ago and got tested for pregnancy but was all clear and since had 2 injections, had my last injection just over a week ago, also got tested for STI's/STD's will have results next time i have my injection i assume, If anyone can help me understand this it would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Just wondering if anybody can help me, i have been on the depo injection for almost 5 years and never once had a period or any spotting. Just today i started getting ba cramps and small blood clots, i have a very sore tummy also. Please help :(

Similar experience as me. I don't take diet pills but I do take preworkout, protein shakes, and made a drastic change in my eating habits and exercise. Believe it or not, the healthy lifestyle changes I've made gave me irregular spotting. My gyno says it's normal but she didn't conclude it came from health changes. That's my own conclusion from observing patterns and reading other people's comments.

breakthrough bleeding if perfectly normal i went to the hospital because i thought something was wrong or something but turns out nope im good it just happens with any birthcontrol i to never have a monthly or spot on depo so i was concerned so girls don't worry

You aren't supposed to be on DEPO that long! I'm shocked they let you be on it for nine years!! You have to alternate after 2 years because of possible bone loss//infertility. That is not good. :

Omg your problem is exactly mine. I'm 20 years old. This month marks my 2 years on depo. My next shot is next week but all of a sudden, 2 days ago I started bleeding dry dark brown. I had to start using pads. I've never bled during depo, so this is strange. My sister thinks a fetus might fall out of me because her friend was on depo and it happened to her. I'm scared if she's right. I had unprotected sex in May. I'm scared my pregnancy and the depo meshed together and caused a problem. Please help!!!!

I have been on depo for 15 years or longer and today I experienced the same thing with the bleeding for the first time. I was told by er doctor that's it's nothing to worry about.

When u stop depo it will take some time to get pregnent just so u no i was on it for a year when i got off took over a year to consive

I have been on it for twenty years last month, I haven't had any issues, came off for a break, got pregnant went straight back on after having child (ten years ago) but reading this now as I have suddenly started a period which I haven't had in ten years but feeling really tired and hormonal all the time!

I was on the depot for 2 years came off it October 2013 and having unprotected sex not caught at all. Takes a year for fertility to get back to normal. Now I'm thinking I won't be able to have children :(
