i got pregnant on depo provera can this hurt my baby

Hi honey! The downside of getting a shot is that it is still in your system while you are pregnant - because it isn't 100% effective! You are more at risk of having a premature baby or a miscarriage as the uterine lining is less from the shot! You must have gotten pregnant right before the shot! And the embryo embedded in the uterus before the lining thined out! So you would be ready for the next shot right now right? is that how you found out you were pregnant!? Just take prenatal vitamins and listen to your doctor! OK? How do you feel about being pregnant?

Im 26 and Ive been on Depo for almost a year now again. I was previously on it for 2.5 years. thought it was god sent, but I just found out that Im pregnant. I cant believe this is happening.. I was so careful. I dont know what to do..Apparently I look like im about 15-16 weeks and if thats the case, how would the featus have coped if I took a shot in JAn and again on the 1st April ..I had no clue I was pregnant! I couldnt tell from my period as Ive had none since being on DEPO. Ive been on so many antibiotics , Ive had occasional drinks and smokes---how can the featus cope? What are my options ? Im seeing the gynae tomorrow after finding out today.

Hi honey! I know this doesn't help you know, but WHAT THE H&&L was the person who gave you the shot in April thinking? They ALWAYS have to do an ultrasound and a pregnancy test - as the Depo shot is just as effective as the pill - so 1 in every 100 women become pregnant while one this1 I am TRULY disgusted that nothing was done! That means you were about 12 - 13 weeks - and NO ONE could tell that you were pregnant!?!!!! That is ridiculous!

Sorry, but that is intolerable that they didn't even do a simple urine test for crying out loud! Anyway the next step is up to you honey! At 16-16 weeks a simple ultrasound will be able to tell if there is any damage to the baby! Antibiotics - no big deal, occaisional drinks and smokes - not good, but not like you do it all the time! The BIG worry is this, the Depo shot is created to thin out the lining of your uterus - so your baby will probably be born premature and they will have to keep an eye on you, that there isn't any seperation going on! Also know that there is a LOT of proof and research into the fact that if a pregnancy occurs through tough times, it is most often a girl - as the female sperm is by FAR stronger! In most countries you have uptill 20 weeks to have am abortion!!! So before you see her, start thinking about your options! Write down EVERYTHING you want to ask, and have her answer each and write the answer down - you don't want to leave without having your questions answered! Please let me know what goes on OK? I went to the docters yesterday for my rhogam shot, and the nurse gave me the wrong shot, the depo provera shot!!!!!!!!!!! unbeleiable and i am 28 weeks (7 months ) pregnant and am very worried something bad is going to happen to my baby. How can a nurse make such a HUGE mistake???????

I am at the end of my depo shot. I had a three day cycle.. from nov18-21. now, last week, seven days off and on of light to minor brown spotting only when using restroom.. now no spotting, but my mom and godmother say my nipples and aereola look darker, and my belly is somewhat squishy, but firmer in lower abdominal area, and my mom thinks it cud be twins, since they run in my and my fiance's families.. cud it be? Actually Depo will not kill your baby. When you are pregnant you make a hormone called progesterone. Depo is progesterone based. If anything it will help the baby. The only down side is the thinning of the uterus. Take some prenatal vitamins and you'll be fine

so you are saying it wont hurt the baby? Then why wont it show up yet? My first showed at 8.6 weeks, my second at 7.5, and that was with blood tests up to a week before showing on a urine test with first, 4-5 days before with my second. how long should i wait before taking another test, and how soon should I get on prenatals? How high are my chances of being pregnant?

I had my 1st Depo shot on the 2d of Nov 2012, I was not on my period, far off actually. My period started on the 23rd of Nov 2012 and it lasted for 13 days!!! My periods has always been 4 to 5 days, very strange.. The sister told me to be safe for 10 days, which we were. Think we had unprotected sex around the 10th of Nov right through until present (30 Dec). Because my period lasted for so long it changed my cycle lenght and I think I am now on a approx 33-35 day cycle. My next period was supposed to start around the 28th of Dec 2012, today is the 30th and still nothing, which is normal with the Depo, so I am not freaked out about a missed period.

For the past 3 weeks I have been feeling nauseous especially at night, I am sensitive to certain smells, like eggs and the smell of cooked food hanging in the air. I am urinating more often, I have put on weight overnight! Really, in 1 week none of my clothes fits me and my weight have been constant all my life! My breasts are huge and they feel full, I also get this warm sensation inside my breasts. I am always tired, ready to sleep again 2 hours after waking up. I have an interest in peppermint chocolates or pepperminy ice cream and last night I felt like eating mustart with cold meat, I do not like mustard! I had these exact same symptoms and signs with my daughter's pregnancy, same food changes, everything is the same! My breasts normally gets full of lumps just before my period, but since yesterday I have noticed huge solid lumps in both breats behind the nipples, again just like with my previous pregnancies!

I have done 4 tests and they all were negative, did them all a week apart, tested again this morning and negative.

Is this the Depo? Or am I pregnant? I did a due date and ovulation calculation and it said that I conceived 2 weeks before my missed period, so maybe it is still too early for the tests to pick up the hormones? Or maybe I am ovulating now? But it cannot be since I was supposed to get my period 2 days ago allready.

I am so confused! I know what it feels like to be pregnant, been pregnant twice and right now I am experiencing the exact same symptoms but all the tests are negative!!!????
