Hi. I had anterior cervical discectomy and I still feel pain. Is it normal to feel pain after surgery? I am really worried. I think something went wrong.

Hi. Of course it is normal to have pains after the operation. I had ACD and it hurts a bit, especially in the incision area. Pain is not unusual. You may be prescribed with meds to control pain. Heat and massage may be very effective. I also feel numbness in my fingers. I can`t get used on my new limitations. Standing requires a gradual pace, as I have discovered. Discomfort is always present. Pain, however, is something that I can control with meds. The good thing is I can shower. Nice, hot bath makes me feel better.
