H, I am 34 years old and I am suffering from ulcerative colitis. I got it after trauma last year, my brother died in a car accident. Changes happened suddenly with a lot of diarrhea (with blood and mucus in it). I have lost over 6 kg over couple of days and ended in hospital. I have been taking Pentasa, and now I am on Asacol. What is the difference between these two meds?

Those are two medications with the same chemical structure. I know this from my personal experience; I have been using them for the same condition. It can be taken in the form of pills. It can be given in the form of enema too, for the better effect. Those are both anti inflammatory drugs and they work by inhibiting the production of leukotriens, mediator of inflammation process.
