Rowasa and asacol are completely same drugs with different brand names. They are both generically mesalamine, derivate of salicylic acid. They are available as different technological formulations; 250 mg gelatin capsules-pentasa, 400 mg enteric coated tablets-asacol or 500 mg rectal suppositories and 4g/60 ml enemas. Inactive ingredients are different, but active substance is the same.
