Hello, I have just found out that I have a pineal cyst after an MRI scan. I had the scan because I had a head injury about eight years ago and have had constant head pain since.(I take amytriptyline which helps with this.) Consequently it is difficult for me now to know exactly what causes my pain. I am also having another MRI in nine months. I am so sorry to hear of your problems .as I know how you feel.

I have been diagnsoed with pinneal cyst 9mm. I went to MRI because I had strange pressure in my eyes , cheeks , ears and i had very little headaches but a lot of dizziness. Several neurologists explained to me that this cyst can not cause symptoms. I dont know what to do I sleep little , I constantly feel nervous and anxious , my dizziness was gone and now week alter it came back again. I also feel my legs and hands shaky and weak. Do you think it is ebcause of the cyst? I also did EMG which showed problem with my nerves located in the neck area C5 C6 C7.

hi folk's. THANKYOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! MY GOD i thought i was CRAZY!!!! But reading all these posts makes me realize its not me it's my CYST!!! I have had symptoms for over 1 1/2 years, i have switched doctors three times and even insurance companies for my health care because i have just felt "off" for sooooo long. every thing you all explained i have experianced plus some.
i was just sent to have an MRI three weeks ago because the dr was concerned i had a stroke because i lost muscle control and vision for a minute a work followed by about ten minutes of double vision and an extreme pain behind my left eye. turns out i have a 10x10x9mm cyst on my pineal gland. the DR told me this was nothing to be concerned about and is "asymptomatic" just like everyone else has posted. after researching for the last couple weeks its seems like the only ones saying there are no symptoms are the DR'S!!! i have head pressure, blurry vision off and on, numbness and tingling in my left arm and hand, nausea, memory loss, extreme muscle fatigue/pain, loss off sleep, eye pain, neck/shoulder pain etc etc.....
i have kaiser permanente right now and they seem like they could care less about my cyst saying there is no way it is related to my symtoms. how do i convince them this is real!?!?!?!

Hi there. I know many of these post are from quite some time ago and I"m not sure if anyone is following these now. But if so, I'd love some advice. 9 years ago, my husband and I had gotten pregnant. About 7 weeks along, I started having horrifying migraines that would come out of no where. I would lose my perripheal vision, I'd see bright spots, my face would go numb and sometimes my arm would as well. I miscarried about 15 weeks and they immediately stopped.
Then 3 years ago this week, I was at work and felt a little off. My speech started to get messed up and what I was thinking and actually saying wasn't the same. Like all my words were mixed up. I started losing my vision and became very disoriented. They took me to the er where I had a seizure and I stayed for 4 days. They thought I was having a stroke but come to find out it wasn't. They did an ct scan and mri and they said it all seemed clear.
I didn't really have any more problems over the last 3 years except headaches, occasional vison problems, pressure in my head and fatigue. But nothing that lasted or bothered me so badly that I worried too much.
Then last week I had another episode at work. Thankfully my boss was there and called my mom. My speech got mixed up, I was losing my sight out of my right eye and the pressure in my head was so bad. My mom took me to the er and after a ct scan they came back and said I had an 8mm cyst in my pineal gland. The ER dr said it was outside of his expertise and to follow up with a neurologist and have a MRI done.
So I am now on the hunt for one that is taking new patients. I don't want them to blow me off about this and I don't want to freak out about it but I'm a little concerned.

i don't know of any pineal cyst sufferers with no major headaches - I'd say it's unlikely that is your problem. Key symptoms of a pineal issue (that would be fixed with pineal surgery) are stabbing headaches, vision issues (blurry vision, difficulty moving eyes), tingling limbs, fatigue, tinnitus, and sleep issues, although that's not a comprehensive listing.
