I have been Diagnosed as well, I was brought in by my mom, she woke me in the middle of the night saying I was screaming in my sleep. these are what I experianced

I 1st experianced it about 1 year ago, it started that, I was getting hot and sweaty in a cold room, and I was only siting in a chair, then a head ache came in, it started minor but progressed, I went to sleep thinking rest might help at 1st, then about 1:20 am or so my mom came in to wake me up saying I was screaming in my sleep, she brought me in to the doctor, my mom had to help me walk for my balance was all out of wack, the pain started to spread all around the back of my head, the doctors 1st thought was Meningitis, when tests cam back negative he said it might just be a realy bad migrane. Later that night I got a pressure in the back of my eyes not more than 2 hours later I was back in the E.R. where they finaly decided to do not just an M.R.I. but a CatScan to, they came back to me and said it was a Pineal Gland Cyst, the part that makes me mad is he said it was 11.3 cm, no joke, I looked into it, I thought that did not make sense for it o be so big, I found that the fatal size is 4.7 cm, so I am still looking for a doctor who can be accurate, let alone treat it right, I have a feeling mine is more or so around 1.7 cm or so, but I can not make that choice for I am not a doctor. I do not mean to bring bad news to any one, but I also learned in my research that the Pineal Gland Cyst is capable of growing, as well as becoming Cancerous, though it becoming Cancerous is realy rare, though its growth is wached.
This Cyst is also something you are born with and it sarts to develope in your early child hood normally 1-5 years old untill it can be traced. Also some people who have them never once get a symptom, or others like me and you get these symptoms.

Hope some of this can help you know more.

P.S. : If any one would happen to know a good doctor or Neuroligist in North Dakota, that I can trust for accuracy and not over blow the size like the one had please let me know, all I know is it is there, but thus far no one has been accurate

Hi Mikemcsw:
i do believe that my sinus problems are the reason for all of my problems. I had the MRI with contrast and they found nothing new. I have been taking Allegra 24 hour everyday for 6 months now and have noticed a huge difference. I have tried to see what happens if I don't take it and I get raging headaches and sinus pressure, so I make sure that I take it everyday. Of course, i still get headaches once and awhile and treat them with Advil. My neuro told me not to take Advil everyday anymore b/c that contributes to headaches as well. What type of treatment is your daughter doing for her sinus issues? I have a deviated septum and my sinuses do not drain properly. This creates so many other things like dizziness and clumziness. It could be related to the cyst but maybe not. i will get follow up MRI's every couple of years just to be safe. I hope you respond, i would love to hear about your daughter. Take Care :-)

I really would like some help..I have an eight year old son who has been getting migraines since he was four and a half. When he went to the e.r for the first migraine an mri was done which is when we found out about the cyst. We were told that this is "normal" and that it will most likely reabsorb into the body. We were also told that this is definetly not the reason for his migraines, swollen eyes, behavior changes and sleep problems. Now, I may sound like a horrible mother but I just started research online yesterday and I have now demanded a referral to a neurosurgeon, only to find out that insurance has denied my request. PLEASE HELP ME MY SON IS IN TREMENDOUS PAIN AT LEAST TWICE TO THREE TIMES A WEEK!!! I don't know what to do anymore. I have just been crying when I can and calling and researching the rest of the time. Any help would be appreciated. You are all in my prayers :-)

Hi everyone my name is Walter Felton from Atlanta, GA

My mother who is 67 yo, had a cyst the doctor went in and drain a half of cup of fluid from it. It was central located near my mother brain. For two years my mother could not left her right arm above her belly because it was so heavy. For the past six month my mother started to walk like a baby taking there first step. But by the grace of God and a great doctor at Macon Medical Center in Macon, GA. My mother on Monday evening is standing and walking like a champ. She is lefting her right arm above her head. The only thing is that she shakes and thats because the muscle hasn't move in that arm is so long. Her doctor is setting up a physical therapy to help control the shaking. But my mother is doing Fabulous.

Hi, my name is Carol and I was just diagnosed with a pineal cyst that is 1cm. I have to go back for an MRI sometime next week. I have many of the same symptoms as all of you, eye problems, sinus pain, dizziness, clumsiness, major headaches constantly. They found mine when I went to the ER with a massive headache and treated me for a migraine. During the CT scan they found the cyst. I don't know much about it yet but I do know that my mom is in a company that makes natural products so she is doing a lot of research for me to try and find something to help me. If any of you would like to talk to her and have her give you the info she is finding for me her email address is _[removed]_. I am very lucky to have her knowledge on natural products and am very excited to see what they do for me. I will keep you all posted as I can. It is great to hear that I am not just losing my mind. :-)

I've read all the post and I'm going through the same thing. I was just diagnosed with a pineal cyst a couple weeks ago. I had an MRI two years ago and they said it came back normal. Well, a couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor b/c of a 3 day migraine and I requested another MRI. The results were back in a couple of hours saying that the cyst from the prior MRI showed the it had increased in size. Hello....I thought it was normal. I went back to the doctor today because my neck and head is continuing to kill me. The Midrine for migraines is not working, I feel tired but can't sleep, I'm dizzy, feel disoriented, and the pressure I feel in my head is driving me nuts. I don't have any vision changes yet but I do have a radiating pain at times in my left eye and left ear. All my pain is on the left side. I found out that the cyst two years ago was 6mm and now it is 10mm. My appointment for the neurosurgeon is the 10th of this month. My aunt works with him and has already been talking to him. He said that surgery was too risky and the treatment would probably be radiation. He also said he didn't think it was causing my migraines. My migraines have gotten worst over the course of two years because that is the reason I got the first MRI. Two people in my family have had brain tumors, one of which went into a coma during the birth of her daughter and later died. I can't live like this, in constant pain. Something has to be done and I don't understand why doctors just brush it off as nothing serious. If it's too serious to operate, wouldn't it be too serious to leave there. :$

I am just beginning to wonder if maybe the doctors are right, that it's not the pineal cyst, but something else everyone has in common?

I am just curious how many that have these symptoms have problems with nasal stuffiness. My daughter has a pineal cyst, but all of her symptoms can also be explained by the fact she is always stuffed up. she breathes through her mouth frequently, and this can cause TMJ, which in turn can cause neuro problems. the breathing can also cause blurred vision and eye sensitivity. Is this a possibility??

Hi mikemcsw. I agree that we all do have the same things in common. My sinuses are the root of all my issues and I just happen to have the pineal cyst. I don't know if it is related or not. My sinus problems just get worse as I get older. I have had sinus pain and pressure and allergies my whole life. i don't know. I just take my Allegra D 24 hour and when headaches are really bad I take some Advil too. I don't know - how is your daughter doing?

I have had severe headaches for years. I have had several MR's and CT scans. My doctor has now advised that I should not have any more as the radiation is not healthy for me. I also was informed that I has a pineal cysts and it has nothing to do with my headaches. i believe this is true as the Pineal cysts only showed up in an MRI 2 years ago I had one the year prior and it did not show up. Headaches can be there for many reasons such as stress our I get all types of aches and pains in my head including numbness no doctor has been able to state why. I say try to reduce stress and make a journal note what you eat every day and when your headaches occur and see if you notice a pattern,

Hey, I am 16 years old and was diagnosed with a pineal cyst about a year and a half ago. They found that when I had headaches and got dizzy was weird so they checked me out and found it. It is about 6mm. I have extremely painful headaches and they can last for days even weeks.....My doctor is a good one and helps a lot. I was suppose to get it checked out every 6 months but have not been able to afford it. Lately....my headaches are worse, I'm more dizzy. sick all the time.....and my vision is starting to screw up. I have also had a lot of sinus problems....they said I had sinus disease and i still have some problems with it. My mother says she will use all the money it takes to get me in to get checked but I know she can't afford it....I can't say that it is my cyst but everything fits and I'm terrified.....and I don't know what to do......If it is my cyst then I want it out.....When my bf found out about it he got scared....and now....I am..... %-)

Listen everyone - You all have the same symptoms and to be honest - your pineal gland is very important to your mental, emotion, and conscious well-being. Pineal cyst is a concentration of thoughts and stressors that are resting on you. Stress relief will help but also understanding and relieving the unknown factors that reside behind these things. Cyst removal surgery should not be considered as of yet but directing your attention to meditations would be key. Lower the use of bluetooth tech and cell phone to ear because that contains radiation that may prove to be more harmful than good. with cyst and collection of concentrated blood - it could activate something. I suggest royal jelly - bee secretions - it reduces size of tumor - immune system and brain focus. Maca root - which does the same. Your pineal gland hones a person's ability of foresight - 6th sense and intuition. Look for herbal remedies and within a month you may see more of a difference than going to doctors who do not deal with these concepts. This is merely a suggestion but you can do your research on this. I am not a doctor but I do use my foresight a lot. For the original poster. - Your son is picking up on thoughts. It's a gift we all have and are not trained to use. I picked mine up from building knowledge pursuing spiritual guidance through GOD. Pursue herbal cyst removing remedies.

I'm curious to the anything in common factor. How many of you use any kind of artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, NutraSweet? There are indications that artificial sweeteners can cause similar symptoms. Even a stick of sugar free gum can cause migraine headaches and some people will drink several diet sodas a day. I would suggest eliminating all artificial sweeteners for a few weeks to see if that helps.

I have epilepsy , and what you are discribeing is EXACTLY what a seizer is like for me. I would insist on an eeg if I were you! As for the PINEAL CYST my son 8 also has one. no headaches or anything they said it was an incidental finding. MAYBE everyone here has the same type of symptoms because those are the types of symptoms you get an mri for. You cannot have incidental findings, without looking for something else first. NOW WHAT COULD CAUSE ALL THESE SYMPTOMS IS Chiari, My son has this it is when your cerebellum descends into the spine, MANY MANY MRI's are not advanced enough to detect this yet. INSIST ON AN MRI MACHINE THAT CAN....IT IS A SERIOUS CONDITION if left untreated.

I have been on a 6 year mission to help my 10 year old. She also has a cyst, diagnosed because of a life threatening seizure that occured when she was 4. I have read everyone's posts and see that she has all the same symptoms. What I would like to hear about is the behavioral aspects people are experiencing. The depression, mood swings and panic attacks are so extreme at times and we have tested her for everything, ie. allergies, diabetes, etc. I am starting all over again and am having another mri to see if it has grown. Please tell me about the behavior aspects that you deal with. %-)
