Had been dealing with this problem for two years finally but the bullet and had the surgery. I had my surgery yesterday if you have never had surgery before like me I am sure you will be nervous do not worry I got there everyone was extremely nice they gave me "happy juice" to calm me down. The last thing I remember is being rolled in the operating room. Next thing I know I wake up in the recovery room. At this moment I felt no pain not a care in the world. They give me a English muffin and some water. Fast forward an hour still no pain I urinate and get to go home. Ride home still no pain slight discomfort if you move to fast go slow. I actually felt good enough to get out of the car and get my own prescriptions not only did I go into the pharamacy but I went into Walmart to get a hand held shower head(a must). Note- I was not walking I used the motorized cart. Fast forward another I took a nap the pain meds wore off. I wake up to a dull pain maybe a 3-4 on a scale of 10. Felt a bowel movement coming on so I take some meds. Now on to the movement I was scared of this from everything I have read, I. Can honestly say it was not that bad it was not so much painful just had to pass do not push! I went back and forth from the tub to toilet every couple of minuets. Might sound disturbing but I pass while standing so much easier with less pressure. I finally go and omg was so happy with minor pain 5 tops maybe.I took a bath for about a half hour not so much for pain just felt refreshing. Pain dull for the next couple hours 2-4 pain wise. Around 10 pm I had another bowel movement this one was loose minor pain again 5 if that shower then bed for the night. This morning woke up and had another movement did not have time for pain pills and to my surprise it was not that bad 4-5 and burned after shower then right back to sleep. Woke up about noon took some meds just the ibuprofen none of the Vicodin! Just a dull pain 2-3. I read the posts on here and was terrified of this surgery. I do not think many people come back and post their positive stories so I wanted to. I had three internal removed. I drank about 100oz of water a couple days before my surgery along with after. I am eating light foods soup, apples, sandwiches on wheat. I tore my acl last year and the pain compared to that is nothing. I am a 24yr male maybe my pain tolerance is higher not to sure, but if this surgery fixes my problems I would most certainly do it again. So anyone stressing over this operation I hope this helps I will try to keep this updated if I can find this post again.
