I am 43 years old and I have just been to my gynecologist fir a regular check out. Doctor noticed that my right adnex is a bit more sensitive and after the lab test results came, they showed that I am infected by streptococcus and staphylococcus. I am a diabetic for 12 years and whenever my blood sugar is high, infections of my genital tract occurs. How can I prevent this? Doctor mentioned possible pid? What is that?

When we say PID, we think of cervicitis, endometritis, adnexitis, pelvoperitonitis and acute abdomen. These are all infections that belong to pelvic inflammatory disease. They usually happen when there is already some infection in the genital tract (the problem you have). Diabetes is not helping much here, but your infection of adnex can be treated by antibiotics and of course, by regulating your blood sugar level ( you already know much about that, don't you?).
