I had internal hemorrhoids and external skin tags removed on Sunday. It is now Wednesday and I have not had a BM yet. I urinate fine and am breaking wind, just no solids yet. My bowels were completely empty before surgery and I haven't eaten too much since. I've had lots of fluids and have been taking all the prescribed medication - ibuprofen, tramadol, paracetamol and stool softener. I had my first decent nights sleep last night as I'd been troubled by hiccups and the obvious discomfort. Does this all sound normal so far? Hiccups were chronic but have now stopped. Apparently this can be a side effect of general anaesthetic.

hi there i had the same surgery as you for internal hemms and external skin tag and i am constipated as well despite not taking narcotics, taking lots of fiber, mirilax, prunes and tons of water. i was wondering if it got better for you? i have gas but only went poo once in 6 days. naturally it hurt like heck despite the softeners. the office tells me to take more but i thought i needed them to soften it, not to make it? had i done all this before the surgery, i'd be having all day diarreah. i am worried i have become in incontinent.
