Please describe withdrawal symptoms and overmedication

Over dosage with prednisone usually doesn’t refer to single large dose. They usually don’t cause any symptoms nor death. An over dose with Prednisone is usually caused by prolonged intake of larger doses. If that is the case, you may experience obesity, round face, facial hair growth, bruises, acne, fluid retention (swelling of extremities) and weak muscles.
As for the withdrawal symptoms a person may experience joint or muscle pain, headaches, fatigue, hypotension, nausea and even vomiting. Depression has been often reported. These symptoms may be quite severe if the drug had been taken for prolonged periods of time.
This happens because if Prednisone was taken for a long time, natural production of steroids is probably diminished as the adrenal glands lose their ability to produce them and may shrink as well.
If the drug is abruptly stopped, this may cause severe side effects meaning that steroid won’t be produced at all in the body.
All doctors taper prednisone, some even after 3 days usage.
