I have been depressed for a long time now, and am looking into antidpressants very seriously. My family doctor suggested lofepramine, at alowe dosage for the time being. What can others tell me about the potential side effects of lofepramine? I am quite concerned about this, and would like it is someone could put me at ease.

With lofepramine, more common side effects, which are experienced by about half of the patients taking it, are drowsiness, nausea, heart palpitations, excessive sweating and low blood pressure. These are all temporary and likely to wear off in the first three days after you start taking lofepramine. If you get any more serious side effects, contacting a doctor immediately is important.
