I rarely get yeast infections. Maybe three in my lifetime and I'm 27. I was showing signs of a yeast infection and bought the Monistat 1. I had a bad experience years before but it cleared the infection. This time my reaction was 10 times worse. The burning and itching were worse than the initial infection. I was up all night. Finally got in the hottest bath possible and washed away what was on the external skin. The bath helped. I got out and dried off and applied a hydrocortizone cream to the red areas, believing this is an allergic reaction to the cream. I finally was able to sleep after hours of discomfort. Today I'm much better but can assure you I'll be going to the doctor for oral medication if another Yeast infection pops up. I have no interest in going through that again.

After several days of on and off again vaginal pain and itching I decided to go with monistat 1. The first application of external cream worked pretty good when I got home from work. So before I went to bed I used the ovule....and well it is two hours later and i am in so much pain that i am on here looking to find the side effects of this c**p! Needless to say I should have called the doctor...but I am stubborn and now in more pain than I was to begin with. Looks like it will be a long night....I have no idea how to get the pain to stop but i just took some advil and benadryl hoping that something will make this pain go away. I am glad to see I am not the only one but man this c**p hurts!! Good luck ladies!!

i also believe that it was a condom that cause my infection because i was perfectly fine until after i used one.. it was downhill from there with SEVERE discomfort (itching, burning, wanting to cry lol).. then i used the monistat 1 treatment and got almost instant relief. it did not seep out on me or anything.. after the first day a bit seeped out in a huge wap.. then each day after that for about 4 days total. i assume that's the vagina naturally cleaning itself out, though, as i am 100% better now after 4 days and had absolutely no issue with the product. i would recommend it for anyone 100% sure that what they have is a yeast infection.

I used the Monistat 3 and have never ever been in this much pain... then when reading the literature that comes with it...it does say that if the symptoms are worse to use the 7 day treatment. From what it sounds like, the 1 and 3 are just too strong for some people and the active ingredient in 1 and 3 is a higher concentration than in the 7 day one..

Forget about the gyn, I had to go to the er because I thought my vagina was on fire. I put it as an allergy on my med list. Gynolotrimin is a safer alternative in my experience.

I used Monistat 1 yesterday at 4. i experienced a slight burning, and i could feel it meltiing inside of me. I had no INTENSE burning or itching, more like an uncomfortable feeling. this is my first yeast infection, im 17 and my mom bought it for me. Today everytime i apply the cream, it begins to burn. Its swollen and red and uncomfotable. My question is what do i do now? go get the 7 day treatment? ive never been to the gyno. before so i dont want to go.

I've gotten a yeast infection after each of my last three periods. I'm not sure which is causing mine, but we did buy fire and ice condoms (which I hate, they burn) and we have only used them the day after my period just in case. I'm pretty sure they are causing mine too after I've read about them. They're horrible.

Well, c**p. Why didn't I look this up BEFORE I used Monistat 1. I took the insert 12 hours ago (before bed) and burned all night long. In the AM, I looked at my nether regions in a hand mirror and apologized to my red, swollen body. Tonight I looked at the external creme tonight in it's little tube and wondered if it would just increase the discomfort. I took a deep breath, said a prayer and used some. It's been 2 hours and I don't feel quite as swollen, itchy or raw. This is the first infection in about 3 years, I've used Monistat 7 before, with so side effects such as these. I won't be looking in a hand mirror anytime soon, it just makes me feel terrible for being so impatient I had to use the 1-day treatment. I was hoping to get some "action" this weekend... now I'll be lucky if my cooch doesn't burn to a crisp and fall out. This c**p should be taken off the market. It's TOO STRONG for the average woman. Who the hell approved it?!

Dont freak out about the burning! I had a yeast infection last year and I bought the Monistat 1 day treatment and I had very bad burning but it worked like a charm. This year, though, I decided to try it out again when I got another infection ( I had actually forgotten about my previous bad experience with burning with monistat 1) and it didn't give me any burning at ALL! I only remembered that it had caused me burning the previous year when I was reading the pamphlet after I had inserted the ovule and I saw that some women react with burning and Im like OH RIGHT I had that horribly last year!!! I was so upset cause I had already inserted the ovule and I was awaiting the burning but it never happened! I wonder if it's because it was the second time I used the product or because... I dont know! So if you already inserted the Monistat 1 and you're freaking out that the burning is definitely going to happen... it might not! And if you ARE experiencing burning I'm so sorry for you but don't think that this means you will always experience burning from the product. feel better!

Oh my goodness I have used Monistat 3 day before but never monistat 1. I got it today and right before bed I used it. I got up to go pee and right after I started to get the worst inching sensation ever! It burns too! I am never using this product ever again and would not recommend this product to anyone. I wish I had researched it before I got it, but I really didn't think about it since i had used the 3 day one. If it's not better in the morning I am going to call my doctor and have him call me in the pill, which I have had before and which works great! So hopefully someone will read this if they are thinking about getting monistat 1 and think twice!

After inserting the pill i felt fine for about 30 mins and then started feeling like stuff was leaking outta me i went and laid down and my vigina felt as if it was on FIRE !!!! >;) I smoked some medical marijuana to be able to fall asleep the next morning when i woke up there was alot of white clumpy stuff i wiped it all out and and then used a hot rag to clean up down there i also used the anti itch creme the pain is gone and so is the itch... Hopefully after a few days the discharge will be gone too ;-)

OMG.. worst feeling ever.. I took Monistat 1 about 2 hours ago and I'm itching like crazy. I dont have any pain and i think the swelling even has gone down a little, but the itching it will not go away!!! it is the worst thing ive ever experienced in my entire life.I cannot tell anymore if the itching has gotten worse since I took it. but one thing for sure, before i took it the itching would come and go, once i took monistat, the itching is continuous and nothing helps, not the cream not the wipes. Can somebody suggest something to help the itching?? This is my first yeast infection, but Im a long way from home and didnt feel like going to some random gyne out here.. God this really sucks!! I just want to stick a something sharp in there and scratch away!!! And I cant go to sleep cause i have to work on projects which are due tomorrow, otherwise i woulda took a sleeping pill... Please anyone know what I can do to make it itch less??

OK for whatever reason I cannot see my posts so im not sure if they are posting.. but i juss wanted to say this... the itching and burning was unbarable for about 3 hrs after taking monisat 1... it is now 9pm and i feel better.. i dont know if Monistat is a good treatment for my yeast infection and if it is doing anything to treat it right now.. BUT I DO NOT CARE!! The itching has gotten much better!! God I hope I dont jinx it... i swear it was horrible i was ready to go to the emergency room...while looking up my benefits online, i realized that the itching has gone down...

Don't know if it was the fire and ice trojans but we did get the trojan variety pack, and I'm pretty sure that's what caused mine as well. Deffinately don't recomend trojans at all.
