I have heard French people say that red wine is full of positive side effects and help the health of the heart. What is the truth about this? Does red wine have positive side effects or is this just something that French people have made up to make themselves feel better about the excessive wine consumption?

Hello dennis1480,

No the French didn't make it up and in fact U.S. scientists proved it.  Red wine contains resveratrol which is a very powerful antioxidant.  This molecule comes from the skin of the red grape.  You can buy resveratrol as a liquid supplement or take it in powder form or drink the red wine.  It promotes cardiovascular health and it good for every cell in the body.  Personally, I'd rather have a glass of red wine rather than the supplement.
