Hi....I have used this site to read about all different scenarios directly following my surgery and throughout the weeks following and have found it very useful.
I had my second lumbar laminectomy (first one 6 years ago with LARGE success) and had to have my second one on the same disc (L5-S1) as it blew and fragmented.(November 21st, 2012)
The horrendous pain I had endured for over 10 months was finally relieved but the recovery process has been disheartening, depressing, and nerve-racking.
I returned to work....I have two jobs...I am a full time nanny M-F and then have a side baking business that I work on in the evenings and weekends. I have modified both jobs dramatically because I DO NOT want to be in this situation again....but I am definitely not resting all day long...I am doing the required walking a keeping bending and stooping to the bare minimum.
Well, this morning I woke up in excrutiating pain...the pain that is usually there when getting out of bed and walking forst thing in the morning was 5 times worse and never resolved...I cannot move without pain...taken varying pain meds (I have only used pain meds a handful of times since my surgery) and it feels the same. I am FREAKING OUT!!! I have to be at work tomorrow with a two-year old and a special needs 6 year old and I do not know what to do :(( The pain is like a pulled my back out or my back went out and when I step on my right foot (weaker since surgery...numb actually...and the leg where the pain radiated prior to surgery) I feel like I am going to fall because the pain shoots in my back.
Any helpful tips or encouragement??
Thanks in advance
Julie
