I'm 54 year old female with mild typeII diabetes (AIC6.9)and severe disc degeneration in the around C67 and moderate degeneration C4-5 and there is stenosis and there is debate among providers if the cord is touching.. Lately I've been getting sudden onset severe fatigue and falling asleep while reading( head is pointed down. I have having some neuropathy down the left side with numbness and tingling and a feeling of being squeezed. the veins in the fore arm and hand are also enlarged at times. I also have some numbness in the sides of the face and this will spread to the entire front of the face I just started feeling burning up the shins of the right leg as well. I will also get a "weird" feeling at times numbness all over particularly the whole anterior side, dizziness ( vertigo) tiredness and feeling weak though I am not( e.g. limBs etc will test strong.
Meds are metaformin 500 mg BID and Zanaflex 8 mg at night.I had discontinued aspirin per doctors request. I had been taking anywhere from 3 325 mg a day to 9 tablets per day. Diet and weight control are good.
Please note precursors to the above though not as severe started before the medication regime. Falling asleep while reading started one year ago.
Anyone else with this history similar head problems?
Some providers want to do facet blocks. one was ready to do surgery but I wan't sure if he was going to address the steno sis issue as he felt it was more radioapathy ( nerve root inflamation due to compressed discs.
