I think I swallowed a bone a few days ago. It was from a rib (maybe it was a piece of bone), and I swallowed it. I'm actually not even sure it was a bone. It wasn't sharp.

It was maybe about 2 inches long, maybe a third of a inch or half an inch wide. Again, I'm not sure it was even a bone.

I did that the day before yesterday. And yesterday, during the afternoon, I started having a pain in the middle of my stomach. It was hard to pinpoint it exactly. It's been on and off since yesterday, and I am currently feeling the pain.

I don't feel anything poking against the side of my stomach when I press around it.

So, my question is, should I be worried? Should I go see a doctor? Is my body capable of digesting it?

Please help me! Thank you, any answers appreciated.

I am not even sure if the stomach pain was caused by the bone thing. If it doesn't have any jagged edges, there is really nothing to worry about. Your body should be able to digest it, or pass out what remains of it. See a doctor only if the pain persists.

It should come out in your stool. Keep yourself loose and avoid constapation right now. Little kids swallow all kinds of things, my son swallwed a little tire of his truck when he was small. He was x rayed and we saw the tire in his tummy. The ER gave his a good laxative and he passed it.
If the bone that you think you may have swallowed is laying cross ways in your stomach, it may have a hard time being passed, and if anything is sharp it could cut and scratch you trying to come out.
If you are feeling pain and tenderness, you may want to take a quick trip the the ER. This object may have lodged itself in a bad spot making everything around it painful. Foreign objects in the body can lead to infection as the body is trying to tell you that this thing doesn't belong there.

Your body isn't necessarily capable of digesting a bone so I don't think your body could digest it, but you could pass the bone with little to no effect. I think that if you are having a persistent pain though that you should go to the doctor. It's been awhile so what did it turn out to be? Are you doing okay now?
