Hi! The usual cause of belching is a distended (inflated) stomach caused by swallowed air. The common reasons for swallowing large amounts of air (aerophagia) are gulping food or drink too rapidly, anxiety, and carbonated beverages. The body does not digest and absorb some carbohydrates—the sugar, starches, and fiber found in many foods—in the small intestine because of a shortage or absence of certain enzymes that aid digestion. This undigested food then passes from the small intestine into the large intestine, where normal, harmless bacteria break down the food, producing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and, in about one-third of all people, methane. Eventually these gases exit through the rectum.

This kind of bloating is caused by undigested food. Food becomes trapped in your intestines because your body is unable to digest it properly and it begins to ferment. This fermentation process produces gas, and this gas bloats your stomach. Bloating like this is caused by what you eat, how you eat, and your eating habits. It can be caused by eating too quickly or not chewing food thoroughly enough. To speed up digestion your diet should contain more food with fiber and you should avoid dairy products and fatty food. And for acid problems first aid are antacids along with keeping the spicy food out of the diet.
