I am a 59 year old paraplegia.  I have a catheter  line in my bladder for drainage.  Three

weeks it was plugged for about 5 hours.  A new line was put in, but with swelling of the

skin above the penis.  When pressing on the swelling, the penis starts to erect.

Well, it makes sense that you would experience some swelling from inserting a new catheter, just because of the irritation to the urethra and surrounding area. Pressing on the swelling may just stimulate the nerves and cause an erection – a natural physiological response even if it does not feel especially good at the time. A good idea would be to use a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) on the skin of the penis itself to help soothe  any irritation and keep the skin supple and  smooth.
