I have been swimming for a quite some time. I have become very good. Now I am considering entering the competition. However, I feel that I lack proper kick coordination and that I would benefit from being trained by a professional. What do you think about teaching competitive swimming? Is it worth it?

You are correct in assuming that you can benefit from professional coaching. The coach is trained to observe all your weaknesses and teach you how to correct them. Thus he can save you a lot of effort, lost competitions and disappointments. All top athletes have top coaches who constantly monitor their performance, mistakes and progress. Why shouldn’t you? Try to find a skilled trainer near you and talk to him about your desire to compete.
