Hello. I'm 15 years old and I had my tonsils removed 10 days ago. And all I can tell you is , I have never felt pain like it. Day 1 they kept me in overnight after surgery as I had an abnormal heart rate + blood pressure but in the morning they decided I was fine. I went home and didn't feel too bad , I was on paracetamol and ibuprofen. The next morning , hell. I slept with my mouth open and woke up with such a dry throat in so so much pain. Drunk and sorted it for the most part but carried on with painkillers.

Day 5 I woke up in the early hours , one side of my tonsils in so much more pain than other. Suddenly my throat felt soaking wet , so I ran to the bathroom to spit and pure red blood came out. I then literally was gushing blood from my right tonsil bed for a good 20 mins. I swallowed some accidentally and within the next five mins was violently sick blood. I was rushed to a&e where I again bled more. They had me on drips and IV paracetamol and anti-sickness. The bleeding stopped that day , until I went to get up. Then again , heavy heavy bleed + sicking blood. Turns out I had a artery bleed in the throat, surgeon 'quaterised' it (not sure on spelling) and the next few days after that I felt wonderful. It wasn't 10/10 but nothing on the previous pain. I am now on day 5 after the bleed and have extreme pain in one side of my throats and ear and swallowing feels like I'm swallowing knifes ... WHEN WILL THIS END! Best advice ? Don't get it done
