Please tell me something about toppamax. I have heard that it works in migraine prevention. As I need something like that, because have been suffering migraine attacks occasionally in last 10 years, I’d like to hear your opinion. I tried the strongest pain medications from the group of nsaids, than carbamazepine, but they didn’t work in me. I know that nothing can cure migraine, but I believe that there are medications that can help me control headache.

Topamax is antiepilepsy medication that has been shown as very effective antimigraine prophylactic. There is obviously something in common with migraine and epilepsy, as both carbamazepine and topamax are used in these indications. Doses of topamax that should be used in migraine prevention are lower than used in epilepsy. This drug is relatively new in antimigraine therapy. Dose should be recommended by physician, and are about 100-200mg daily.
