I had a total abdominal hysterectomy almost 4 weeks ago, and they removed everything, my uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries. This past week I have been experiancing pretty bad pain in 2 very specific spots. One on my right side, and one on my left side. The pain pills they gave me when I was released from the hospital don't seem to help. At first I just thought I over did it around the house bust even when I don't do anything it still hurts. Shouldn't I start to be feeling better by now? I thought this was supposed to help with all my problems? Can anyone tell me if this is normal or what?

I think that by this opint that you should be recovering from it at least a little. Can you tell me what happens if you consult your doctor about this? Or perhaps get a second opinion? I'd like to hear how it goes.

I had the same surgery and feel like something may have gone wrong or something maybe still inside that shouldn't be there. The pain is very severe!!! It's been over a yr since hys. surgery and still I have the same intermittent pain. Nothing works except IBP(1600mg) Have seen every MD under the sun and they think I'm crazy. The pain is VERY real. When the pain is active I hate the thought of peeing. My vuluva (cooter) area hurts on the inside as well as the mons pubis area (fatty area covered w/hair). The pain starts off slow then gradually increases to the point where I consider going to the ER...but after medicating it takes about 5-7hrs to stop the pain...then I won't have it again for days. Drinking a lot of water helps to keep severe pain at bay but it's NOT a UTI

Hi! I am also 4 weeks after total Hysterectomy, 57 yrs old. I had what I would call phantom ovary pains. Since there may have been some tendons cut and tied you may be experiencing pain from the tendons. I had it for about 2 days and then it went away. I still get a few pings around my scar but otherwise feeling like a new women. You might want to consult with your Doc and get a sonogram to look for internal bleeding from stitches. Try icing both sides twice a day. That also helped with my recovery. Hope you feel better soon
