Ok so I haven't had a period since December 23,2010, I went to the doctor and had two pregnancy test they both came out negative. And was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Which could possibly make my period irregular. But physically I feel pregnant. I've gained weight, been nauseous, tired etc. My belly has even grown a lot, to the point my belly bottom sticks out. I even feel moment kicking and see my tummy moving.I thought after the results being negative I'd be alright but I'm not. People everywhere I go comment on me being pregnant even my family thinks I'm hiding a Pregnancy. I just dont know what to do I feel so crazed and uneasy. The doctors have me on meds and paranoid that i could be harming my child if i am pregnant. Could it be possible to have a negative test result and still be pregnant?
If this doctor told you that you are not pregnant both times, you're not. You never mentioned when you last had sex but only when the last time you had a period. This may sound silly but there are women who become obsessed with the thought of pregnancy (whether good or bad) that they begin to feel the symptoms of pregnancy and feel bloated. You may be so worried about it that it's making you this way. What stoops me is you went to see a doctor and they are 100% accurate at telling if you're pregnant or not and in this situation, it's either what I said, which is weird, or they lied to you for some unknown, stupid reason (most likely they didn't). Like 'msbun' replied, go get a blood test because that is the only accurate way of telling if you're pregnant or not. It's possible to have a negative result if you had a at home pregnancy test but not in a doctor's office because that's their job to tell you if you are or not. For now, until you go get a blood test, stop thinking about it. Go back to your everyday things and exclude the thought of pregnancy completely. To be on the safe side either avoid sex until you find out, or continuously have protected sex until you're ready to have children (if you find out you're not pregnant). Hope this helped!
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and respond. It actually turns out i was pregnant the whole time. Due sept. 2011. I did see that I failed to mention the last time I had sex. All the pregnancy tests that I took were in the doctors office and said negative. I was trying to convince my mind that I wasn't pregnant but my body really did feel otherwise. I just assumed they were accurate and my lost of periods was from my
hyperthyroidism. I was able to get a blood test from my endrocrinologist. Then she immediately notified me and my primary doctor.
