I'm 22 and I think I have a yeast infection, but I'm not sure. I can't really afford to go to the doctor, due to having little money and no health insurance, but my symptoms are: -Itching/irritation of the labia majora -Swollen / sensitive labia minora -Scentless whitish discharge that sometimes seems to come in globs / clumps. -Sensitivity of the vaginal opening/urethra The symptoms started about a week ago but started out as just my clitoris and the skin around it being sensitive/itchy, and have progressively gotten more severe. I had a well-woman exam a little over 1 month ago and the pap came back normal and I the STD screen came back all-negative. I started on a birth control called FemCon FE which I've been on also for 1 month. I haven't had sexual intercourse in the last 3 weeks, and I am in a monogamous relationship. I do not experience any increased need to urinate or pain during urination. Though it seems that sometimes the itching/irritation will calm a bit and then come back again after using the bathroom due to touching the parts down there with toilet paper.... I try my best not to let my clothing / underwear come in contact with the vulva lest the irritation increase. So here's the real question. I'm fairly certain that this is a yeast infection, after researching online - all of my symptoms seem to be associated with yeast infection, and I started the pill recently which I've read can sometimes make one more susceptible to them... But the box/informational insert are telling me DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT if you have never experienced these symptoms or have not had a vaginal yeast infection diagnosed by a doctor. Could this product (Monistat 1) be potentially harmful to my health if used and I actually do not have a yeast infection, or would my symptoms simply not go away/improve as expected?
