I've been on the pill for 2 whole months and i stopped the pill before i went on the 3rd pack because i was getting too many symptoms. I got my first period a couple of days after i stopped it , then my second period was a couple days late but now my third period is about 2 weeks late now, should i be worried or is this normal ? I had irregular periods before i took the pill.

I began taking birth control pills at the age of 16, they really messed up by blood pressure so I was switched to the Depo Shot. I was on the shot until I was 24. I recieved the shot every 3 months, I never had any periods or spoting while on the shot. I began having large amounts of spoting and after discussing this with my doctor and getting a full exam to be sure all was ok, we decided it would be best for me to stop taking the shot. I was then up on the pill. I'm horrible at taking the pills. I was on the pill for about 6 months before I decided to stop. My spouse was away for work for 6 months and I saw no reason to be on it. I thought it would also be good for my body to have no bc in my body for awhile, since I'd been on it for 9 straight years. Since stopping the pill my periods have had no order to them at all. My cycles are extreamly long. My first cycle after the pill was 42 days, then went to 50, then 113, then 51, then 60. I'd like to ttc soon but I have no idea how to know when im fertile because my cycles are so messed up.

I was Sprintex oral birth control for a year and i had problems with later periods and at times periods that would last for weeks at a time for the first two months i was on the birth control and i had two weeks of my period days after stopping then the next couple months i had them either a week early or a week late but now it has been about 9 months since and its still a couple days off every once and a while but my periods are pretty regular now, i think its a time thing, your body has to re-adjust to your natural levels of hormones which may take a couple months or so. I hope this helps :)

I was on ortho tri cyclen low for 15 years (from age 16-31). Came off because of mood swings, headaches. Mood got much better, but I was irregular for a year (Only got my period 2 times in that year). Went to 3 different gynos to figure it out, they all wanted to put me on birth control pills again. Had a full workup of tests to rule out polycysticovarian and they tested my hormones, said everything was normal. I did try lo-estren for 6 days, felt wacko again, so stopped taking it. Months later I ended up changing my diet, just bc I wanted to eat healthier. Changed to the "Eat to Live" diet plan (author joel fuhrman). After 3 months of eating this way, I've had 2 regular periods (about every 30 days). The eat to live diet is essentially vegan/nutritarian. Tough to switch to this kind of lifestyle, but I've found it incredibly helpful. My mood, energy, and weight is all improved. And now my period! Thought I'd post this for anyone like me who is at wits end trying to figure out their hormones without going on more drugs. I'm not sure why my periods have normalized, or if they're going to continue this way. My best guess is that I've eliminated all animal protein from my diet, and maybe the ingested animal hormones (thru meat and dairy) were screwing up my system. By the way, I'm 5'10", 150 pounds, fit. I wasnt obese or too thin to have regular menstruation. Who knows, but it seems to be working now. good luck!

I was taking yaz for 2 years and recently got off it.  once in a while id skip my withdraw period and continue taking the pill and i can only imagen how that could also screw things up.  but once i was off it i had a withdraw period a few days later.. then regular cycle then it came within 20 days and now its prob 15 days later and im having another period.  joyous.

I stopped taking YAZ January of 2011 and didn't have a period for 6 or 7 months. I went to the doctor and they tried me on another birth control but it made me really sick and my husband and i were trying to get pregnant. I still have irregular periods. It will jump 3 or 4 months then I'll have a very light one for just a few days. Now when I have intercourse it hurts when he goes to deep and I bleed very lightly a few hours afterward. It seems that most of the period problems eveyone is having is from having taken YAZ

I was on the depo shot a few years ago and it made me periods just more of a pain, I would have spotting a lot and they would come sooner and last longer. (Every 2 weeks and last a week and a half, my normal only lasts about 4 days). My periods got back to normal after around 6-7 months. It will probably be different with the pill and other forms of birth control. I just got off the depo again after about a year and I had light spotting for a day and I haven't had it for over a month. (Way to scare women into thinking they're pregnant.)

I have the same issue. I only tried uncaring for a month but side effects made it intolerable. Since quoting I've had my period as planned for a week and then again two weeks later.
Prior to Nuvaring I was on the patch and had no weird periods for the month or two brake from birth control.
I never had irregular periods when quitting the pill. I even had about a 5 year break between quitting the pill and starting the patch.
Seems now my body is responding to not being on birth control. So frustrating as I was always regular and on time w periods.

I have been on LoestrinFE for two years now and it's pretty much stopped my period. I only get it a few days after I miss a pill due to not being able to afford it. But I haven't taken my pill for two days now and still haven't gotten my period. I'm not trying to concieve. I've never heard of a pill to jump start your period. Have you gotten your period? I heard it takes weeks or months for you cycle to come back. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.
