Please Help Me!
My girlfriend finished her last period on august 29th. From that period, forward, we had not had unprotected sex (an accident) until this past weekend. She was already late. This past friday (october 2nd) our condom broke. We went to the local pharmacy saturday morning and got the Next Choice ( morning after ) pill and took it as directed. She still has not had her period. It has been 40 days (today) since her last period. How worried should I be? Please don't tell me to get a pregnancy test because I am scared to death of those things. What kind of effect should the morning after pill have had on her period, if she was schedule to get her period around the date she took plan b? Is this normal? PLEASE HELP
We have already decided that if she doesn't have her period come this weekend, we are going to get a test. But what does this probably mean? Good chance she is pregnant or not? (Granted, I know you all are not doctors)
(ps... she is not on birth control. and she had to take another EC pill a few months back.)
I am absolutely losing my mind being so worried about this.
Thanks.

She is unlikely to be pregnant, but let me tell you---even if you're afraid, you need to take a pregnancy test. Plan B ususally causes you to skip a period at least, and the hormones can take up to three months to go back to normal. If on the offchance that she is still prengant, you need to take control of the situation and act on it. I know it's scary, but it must be done. Can you let us know how it goes?
