So, I should probably start off by saying, i've had this for almost a month. The last time I had my period was May 31 and was about 2 weeks late, i'm 20, a virgin, and was tested negative for a UTI when I went to the doctor.
I've been getting these red strands after wiping. I'm not sure where it's coming from because when I wipe just my urethra, it's there. My vagina? They're there. I thought it was maybe this new bedding I got, which is red and didn't give it a wash to rinse the extra dye, but after changing the bedding to a different color and showering multiple times, they're still there. Thinking it was the toilet paper I was using, i've switched between 4 different brands and used Cottonelle wipes and i'm STILL getting them.
It's not blood because I can manipulate it. I'm assuming that if it's blood it would just break apart or smear just by touching it? These don't, they just move around like it's well....solid, like a thread.
I'm thinking that it's just leftover from my very unusual period and hoping it would go away the next time I have my period, but I'm doubting myself. I'm more worried that it's somehow my bladder shedding.

Sounds as though it's probably ovulation or just like spot bleeding between periods

(1) Tampon residue: If you have recently used tampons, it's possible that the fibers from the tampon could be appearing when you wipe. Make sure to properly remove and dispose of tampons and consider using alternative menstrual products if you suspect this may be the cause.
(2) Vaginal discharge: Vaginal discharge can vary in color, consistency, and amount throughout the menstrual cycle. While it's more common for discharge to be white or clear, it can sometimes appear discolored. If you notice any changes in your vaginal discharge, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms like itching, odor, or pain, it's important to have it evaluated by a doctor.
(3) Infection or inflammation: Certain vaginal infections, such as bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections, can cause changes in vaginal discharge. Inflammation or irritation of the vaginal area can also result in unusual discharge.
Have you got it checked yet?
