What is the problem with Cymbalta and addiction? What are really the side effects?

I have been on 60mg of cymbalta per day for about 3yrs,,,I want off, because I do not think it helps much with depression have gained weight, and the price is way too high,,,but I was not ready for these side effects. I never really thought about it...till I started trying to get off. A dr. told me to only take 1 pill every other day...I did that for a week, now I am trying 1 pill every two days, then he said I can get off. I did not get up all day today,...I cry all the time, I cannot focus...pain all over my body......I would never ever taken this if I knew I would have this kind of trouble getting off of it. I feel so bad, I feel like there is nothing to live for,,,like I am just waiting to die,,,I am so scared,,,I dont want to give up yet,but  dont know if I will make it...
