You can never know when you period starts, but when it does, maybe bring a stash off pads to school, because when your period starts, it might not be regular, you may skip a month, but if it goes during class, just go to the washroom, but if the teacher says no, than tell them if its an emergency, I'm thirteen too, and my refrained already had her period, and all the teachers will say yes Thor a girl wanting to go to the bathroom, because in middle school, that's usually when it starts, but don't be worried if it starts later, when you don't expect it... Hope I helped... :-)

I had my first period right before turned thirteen.
I had been really moody, my face was covered with zits, and I had been experiencing cramping for a few weeks. When I got it, I didn't even notice it, really. It feels like a sort of dripping, a litle wet down there.
When you get discharge, that means your in ovulation (that time of the month when you can have a baby), and then you bleed when the baby dies.
So yeah. You should always bring/carry a panty-liner or a pad with you at all times, just in case you get it.
Even though getting your period means you becoming a woman, enjoy yourself while you still haven't gotten it. When you get your period, you will be most likely spending 5-8 days changing your period pad every 4-5 hours!

It depends. I mean, you have some of the signs, but it happens randomly...
You should ALWAYS be prepared! Carry panty-liners or pads with you!
Besides, getting your period isn't a bad thing - its the final step for you to become a woman!
