Nothing is going to completely take away withdrawl symptoms, however there are some things you can do to make it more tolerable. I have had the unfortunate experience of having to come off 120 mgs cold turkey in jail. I am now being discharged from my clinic. They are reducing my dose by 5mgs every day bringing me down from a starting dose of 177mgs. I didn't start to really experience symptoms until I got below 100mgs. Muscle spasms, insomnia, nausea and vomitting...the whole nine yards. I went to my PCP after being turned down be detox centers because my dose was too high. I explained to my PCP what was going on and he prescribed me 1mg of Attivan every six hours. While this didn't completely abate my systoms, it did make tem tolerable. Some other medications that can provide some measure of relief are, Soma, Flexeril,(both muscle relaxers)vistril for anxiety and nausea/vomiting, and Ibruprofen for aches and pains.
