I am almost 38 years old and have been experiencing some strange symptoms recently. I started taking Yaz almost two years ago. I am having severe cramping in my left calf. It's very strange/painful and wakes me up at night sometimes. When I sit with my left leg bent, my foot and calf go numb. I am really scared that I may be developing a clot. I do struggle with smoking and have been trying to quit, so I am especially concerned. I did have heart/chest pain and shortness of breath a few months ago and thought I was having a heart attack. The EKG came out fine. My Dr. attributed it to my anxiety/stress as my mother has terminal Leukemia, I'm a special education teacher, and the death of my daughter's father have been overwhelming. I also recently had my thyroid checked as I have had such strange symptoms. I am also on medication for depression. I am concerned about interactions, but everyone assures me it's fine. I have had two surgeries for endometriosis. I've been thinking I need another surgery due to severe abdominal pain and random bleeding. I have an eye twitch as well. I know BC is bad for me, and on other pills I did experience major numbness in my hands and arms. I had an IUD for a year, but had so much pain I decided to have it removed. That is when I went on YAZ. My O.B. doc assured me I had nothing to worry about when I asked her about the lawsuits and commercials I have seen. She knows I'm a struggling non-smoker (no more than 2 a day) and my age. I'm really scared after reading all these stories and plan to quit taking Yaz and quit smoking immediately. I have an 8 year old daughter, her father died 3 years ago this month (February 2010) and I can't risk leaving her with no parents. Thank you to those of you sharing your stories. I am sorry to read such tragedy due to a pill.
