Been taking Yaz for 4 months now. I have developed severe foot and calf cramps. I understand that Yaz increases potassium levels and yet I have always felt that a lack of potassium caused the cramping. Could I possibly need sodium to balance this out? The electrolites are off and I don't know how to balance them.

It does increase potassium. It can also increase the risk for blood clots. You may want to check that out.
I suggest you talk to your doctor about this. If your potassium levels are increasing, they could help you with this. I'm suggesting you see your doctor first hand because it sounds like it could be a serious matter if your in pain from it.
Also, see your doctor and inquire about a blood clot. Cramping and foot pain could mean this.
