I fell down a flight of stairs 2 years ago and due to the impact of the fall, have a huge haemetoma on my bottom.
Sometimes it is uncomfortable but it is not my main concern.
I recently have been upgraded to the new pill Yaz, from my old pill Estelle ED35.
I am about to go on this pill in about 3 weeks. My doctor chose this pill for me as I get very intense period pain, sometimes causing migraines, dizziness (resulting in fainting) and sometimes nausea.
I am usually sick for about 3 days and a few days before my period.
The pill states "Do not take if you have a blood clot". I'm scared that I may be putting myself in danger. Someone, please help me.
What should I do?

This warning is definitely serious and is proven that can have serious consequences, but, as much as there was evidence that Yaz can show its serious side effects, from what I've read in User Information on Estelle ED35 (didn't heard of this brand before, so I wanted to see what is the difference), it clearly states in the section "When you must not take..." - If you have or have had blood clots in your legs! So, all this time you were under the same risk, it seems. You need to talk about this with your doctor before you start taking Yaz, that is for sure.

Thanks heaps.
I only went to the doctor this morning.
I did mention the blood clot as it is still big and
I have been concerned about it breaking up and
travelling through my body. He doesn't seem to
think that will happen though.
I never had any problems with Estelle ED35
so maybe Yaz wont give me any problems either.

I think that there is a difference - Yaz is progesterone based and Estelle is estrogen based, so it's not quite the same type of hormones. You just be careful and double-check everything, better safe than sorry - as always. You're welcome :-)

Yes, that is true.
I was aware of this though
because my doctor told me about it.
I agree. I would rather be safe than sorry.
