I got a yeast infection and my dr told me it's because of the amount of extra estrogen that is being put in my body. Does anyone experience frequent yeast infections? Im scared im going to keep getting them.

from what people are saying Yaz is good for people who suffer from PMDD. and they seem to be the only ones that benefit. Yaz was my first birtch control pill i was put on it because i am severly anemic and it was thought that by getting regular periods it would increase my iron levels. but yaz made me feel so much worse when i was on it. I started in Jan. then three months later in March i had gone back to the gyn and told her i didn't like the way i felt on it. i was moody. i had symptoms with my period i never had before such as cramps and body aches. i told her i wanted off the pill so that it would go back to normal she told me my periods wouldn't regualte after only 3 months so she gave me 2 more months and the symptoms got worse, i couldn't concentrate. i was happy having a good time one second then i would just randomly start crying for something little like my hair wouldn't straighten right. now i've been off of yaz for 2 weeks and i still have all those emotional problems. I'm in the process of making a gyn appointment so i can change my birth control.

I am 21 and started using Yaz a year and a couple of months.
Everything was fine the first couple of months, but then i got dizzy and faint for no reason. These symptoms went away withen about 2-3 months...I still have to eat non-stop though in order for this not to happen.
I have not gained or lost any weight, or had problems with acne.
There is one thing that has happened withen the first 5 months of use, I started to have diarreah (so sorry) anyways, i called my doctor and she said to keep trying it to see if i wasnt just sick
well, a year later-no major side effects except diarreah/soft stools.....
I'm guessing im the only one but im not sure...anyone else experience this side effect?
Oh and I forgot to mention that its mostly only once a day and then im good the rest of the day....wierd....

I've taken Yaz for almost a year now. I've experienced many of the symptoms everyone else had and never even thought to attribute that to Yaz. I heard somewhere that Yaz depletes the potassium in your body. I've been having terrible leg and foot cramps for the last couple of months and wondered if that could be due to low potassium. Has anyone heard of this?

i am new to this Yaz,i am going to start it soon,i read a lot of good things about it.my doc said it is common to miss 2 periods and from the 3rd it becomes regular.she did not say much about potassium being increase or decrease,i mean should i be concerned?? wish me luck

Did anyone have really dry eyes that burned and a severly dry throat and chest pains after being on it for only a week?

Actually, ckanenwisher, Yaz increases the potassium in your body. It warns about it in the packet info.

ckanenwisher, leg cramps/pain could be indicative of a blood clot. get off of this medication now and see your primary care doc.

well, after reading all this, i know that yaz is made ONLY for people with pmdd. I have always had very bad pms symptoms two weeks before my period and bad acne as a young teen but it has gotten somewhat better on its own. My symptoms have never bad enough to be pmdd though. I am 16 and was on ortho tri cyclen lo for about 5 months, and I am just now finishing my first pack of YAZ. I absolutely hate it. I have had major migraines almost every other day, severe pain behind my eyes, complete loss of sex drive, slight depression and anxiety, constant bloating, constipation, and gained weight of ten pounds (not very good considering I am a very athletic person, in sports and hitting the gym on a regular basis) , not to mention my breasts have grown much bigger! And my skin may be actually breaking out more than it usually does :-/ I have also not had my period while on yaz, but some bleeding during sexual activity. This has never happened while I was on ortho tri, so I am really concerned, especially after reading all these posts. I think I am going to get off the pill completely and maybe wait a few months before possibly starting back on ortho tri cyclen. I can handle a painful bad period before I can handle anymore of this.

I must say, these posts do kind of scare me.
I haven't started taking Yaz, but I should be starting soon.
It's not like I have to stay on the pill, so I might as well try it, ya know?
I do have one question though!
Ever since I had my first period, I have had nonstop cramps from day one till the day I stop. I have to stay on tylenol my ENTIRE period so I feel like I can survive. If I stay on tylenol and yaz at the same time (until Yaz seems like it's actually doing it's job), do you think that would affect me in a bad way?
Have any of you taken a pain reliever with yaz?

I have been taking YAZ for 7 months and just stopped this month (July). When I started in December of last year I was 120 pounds now I am up to 132 pounds. I usually lose weight in the summer but not on this pill. I have had some of the worst mood swings that my boyfriend and I refer to them as "episodes" as if I am crazy. Talk about crying, I can't stop once I get going. Just an overall depressed feeling. Also my sex drive does not exist. I have been off for a about three weeks now and my weight has leveled off (no weight loss). I have not had an episode or cried. I hope to improve more with time. Overall, I did not have a good experience on YAZ. But, also know that every drug effects everyone differently. Good luck and be aware of what your body is telling you.

I was on yaz for a year, and slowly but surely my hair began to thin out! Now i'm back on Yasmine (which i was on for two years with no hair loss), but i may go off altogether and see if my hair grows back in! Stay away from Yaz!!!!!

i just started yaz about two weeks ago, and it's my first time using birth contol. i'm twenty, and i started on the pill because it was going to help me with the intense cramps that i was getting while i was ovulating. instead, for the past two weeks i have had intense cramps every morning. thank god that i'm on a break from school and i quit my day job, because all i can do during the mornings is lay with the heating pad. i haven't noticed any weight gain, but my skin has gotten worse, which stinks because i have bad skin already and i was hoping that my skin would get better. it's hard for me to go to bed, and even more than that, fall asleep, but part of that has to do with the cramps waking me up in the middle of the night. i am feeling more irratible, but i'm not sure if i'm just in a pissy mood or if it's the pills. the cramping, however, has got me at my wits end. before i started birth control i thought it couldn't be that much worse, but now that i'm on it i realize-yes it can. should i call the gyn? or should i wait it out until i see her in a couple months?

I've been on Yaz for about 1.5 years and only recently became aware of how moody, and not myself I've become. I wasn't on BC before that and was only moody sometimes. I went on it to help with my periods which could be bad. It differed from month to month. I don't know how I didn't see the changes. I'm going to stop taking Yaz and see what happens..I don't like thinking I'm losing my mind. I never used to feel like this until I started taking BC..I'm not even sure I'll go back on any kind of BC except for using condoms.
I've done some digging and I'm glad that I've found that I'm not the only one who has had some of the same problems I've had. Although I enjoyed not having cramps, and practically not having a period...this pill is part of why my relationship is currently in shambles.
I'm not going to not recommend Yaz to someone...try it..it might be right for you...but it wasn't right for me.

I can't believe I'm reading this, I feel like I wrote it down to the last letter. This is me! I started Yaz in May 2008 (on my fifth pack now), and have started to suffer severe anxiety and panic attacks, which I've never had before. It makes me nauseous, sweat, unable to funtion because I'm too busy focusing on my latest terminal illness and how long I have left to live. I'm so convinced I have something. And the next day it completely changes to a different illness. I feel so sorry for my husband and kids. I had to be put on an anti depressant and another med ("rescue") to take when I feel an attack coming on. I've asked everyone to feel my lymph nodes. I'm going to finish my last pills in this pack and be done with it. I can't live like this anymore. I want my life back.
Oh, by the way, I have birthmark like spot (light tan) that showed up on my upper thigh near the crease. Convinced it's melanoma, but it wasn't there one week, then it was. Maybe a pigment change from too much estrogen?
