I am 21 years old and a week ago, the right side of my head began throbbing with pressure. It was not painful, but it still persists and gets extremely worse when I go out in the cold. I now have an enlarged spleen and abdominal pain, along with occasional leg numbness. Every once in a while, I feel a little nauseated only on the right side of my throat. An even weirder thing that happens to me is an occasional urge to laugh, not accompanied by anything funny or even subsequent laughter.

My doctor said he thinks it is Mononucleosis since I have never had it before, but I don't know if he's right, because I don't have a sore throat, fever, or swollen lymph nodes. He prescribed me amoxicillin, and he said if I have Mono I would break out in a rash. Does anyone know how long the rash would take to appear if I have Mono? I have been taking the amoxicillin for two days now, and I still have no rash.

I'm very worried - any answers for me?

The numbness in your leg concerns me, my 23 year daughter just was diagnosed as having mono after she collapsed and was unable to breathe or move either of her legs, now they say she has Guillain Barre Disease and is lucky to be alive. Look this syndrome up ask your daughter it can be deadly in rare cases.
