Hi, I'm 19 years old and I have a serious, strange and a bit embarrassing problem. During my recent fierce argument with my ex girlfriend she managed to badly hurt my testicles. At first I was in a lot of pain, which is, I suppose, normal for an injury in that area but several days have passed since the incident, since I was hit in my testicles and the sores aren’t going away. How serious can this be and what should I do to ease the pain and swelling?

Yes, believe me I know the problem very well. Although it may seem like a serious injury being hit in the testicles usually isn’t life threatening but only a very painful experience. Painful because the testicles actually originate from the abdomen and abdominal organs and they are wrapped with tunica albuginea, the membrane which is supposed to protect them from the outside world and is itself a part of abdominal membranes which are very sensitive to pain. Except for the pain receptors in its tunicae testicles themselves also have many nerve endings in their tissue which are not all pain receptors but when some trauma like the one youre describing happens they all transmit pain information to the brain. It is however possible to inflict serious injuries to the testicles if the blow was really strong. The sores and the pain usually diminish within a few days of “the incident” but if they don’t it is a sign of more serious damage. You should putting some ice on the painful places and if that doesn’t work then you should ask for medical assistance. Hope you will never need it. Good luck.

being hit in the testicles, do you lose the chance to impregnate a girl?
For now it's a good thing, but in the long run....not so much.

There would have to be damage to the tubes that carry the sperm out to be ejaculated. But there are other things it could cause. I fell and one testicle got the worst of it. I ended up with a hydro seal, which is a layer of liquid that forms around the testicle. Mine was corrected with surgery, and all I have left is a scar, but both testicles are intact. But it might also cause other things like low sperm count, which makes it hard to father a child. You see these TV shows where they use invitero, ect. . What they usually don't tell you is each time they try, it costs you tens of thousands of dollars.
