I had LEEP procedure done last week. My gynecologist doubted about some growth down there so I guess he had to do this. Anyway, what worries me is a smelly discharge I have noticed right after LEEP procedure. Is there anyone who had this done before so can tell me something about it? Could it this symptom appear normally or I have again some problem?

I had the same LEEP procedure done almost two months ago, because of abnormal tissue problems on the inner cervix. I had the same problem of a smelly discharge right after LEEP. At first, I thought it was some strange smelly vaginal discharge, but am now thinking that it is discharge from my bladder. I feel like such a nut because I do not know whether it is coming from the vagina or the bladder, and I do not know if I should visit my doctor about it. I have a friend who also done LEEP surgery, and she did not have any leakage about two months then she has noticed the same. I guess she was smarter so she immediately visited her doctor who explained everything to her. He said many women experience a vaginal discharge for four to six weeks after LEEP treatment. She also helped me telling this discharge can be white, yellow, brown or tan and may be smooth or lumpy. Moreover, what is the most important, gynecologist said its odor might be different from usual vaginal discharge. This vaginal discharge is part of the healing process of the cervix and is entirely normal, and it will stop when the healing is complete.

What you are smelling is probably the acidic solution which was used during the procedure discharging from your body. If the smell lasts for longer than a week, then you should call your doctor.

My doctor said that if you do have a smelly discharge it can mean infection so I believe you should go back to your doctor and have them check it out

Hi there. I had a leep procedure late September. I also had a yellowish discharge. After I went to the doctor he said I had a bacterial infection. I then had my 1st period after that appointment. now it's been a month in a half and my period is late. only by 2-3 days. I had a little blood come out and then it stopped completely again. Is this normal for someone who had a leep? i've always had a regular period and I take the pill but I have also heard that your cycle may change when you grow older.

I had my LEEP performed a little over a week ago.

I passed the stuff the doc mentioned, the coffee grounds stuff. But I am currently passing a clear fluid. It feels like I am on my period meaning that I can't control it. It's not colored, it's simply clear and kind of sticky. Others are mentioning that they have seen colored or even white.

Has anyone else passed the clear fluid?

I had this drainage for about 2 weeks after I had my procedure. I had it done in mid-july. Since then I've developed a sour smelling white discharge that seems very strong to me, no one else seems to be able to smell this when I ask them. I don't have any discomfort with it, and no itching or anything like that. The doctor said everything looks great, I don't have any sort of diseases, so it's not from that. It seems to just be more of an annoyance at this point. I'm currently taking some herbs from school (I'm an oriental medicine student), and that's been helping a lot, as well as cutting back on sweets.
When I'm finished with my herb treatment, I'll state how my progress is.

I also had the LEEP procedure performed, only about a week ago though. I also have that clear fluid that just kinda drains out of my vagina. It feels like I am on my period because I literally have no control over when it comes out. My discharge has an odor, a kind of fishy smell to be honest. I dont know if I should call my doctor. I know that a fishy smell means infection ither way. But I am scared to know..... But your not alone

My doctor told me for 3 weeks not to have sex, take a bath, go swimming, use tampons or lift heavy things ... well I waited those 3 weeks and listened to all the rules ... I then went to have sex with my boyfriend, and sometimes get this werid discomfort when he is inside me as well as immediatly after sex I bleed. I don't kno what is makin this happen, does anyone else? I had the discoloured spotting during the 3 weeks and i still do have discharge but its not tan/burt or red ... sometimes clear sometimes yellow mixure. We decided were gonna wait a little longer to continue having sex .. but does anyone know why this would be happening???
Also, today I was told to try and take a bath with a cup of baking soda in the water .... think this will help?

I had my leep on May 21. Had hardly any bleeding at first. Then it came on pretty hard. Went back to my Dr office and they put some medicine on my cervix and it stopped. At least for a couple days. It was bright red too. Then it turned dark brown in color. Some times it is light, other times heavy. Never had the "coffee grounds" That i hear about. Now it has turned a yellowish/green icky color. And it feels like its just pouring out of me at times. I know this sounds horrible, but im not sure if i should go back to my dr or if im over reacting...is this normal after almost two weeks following procedure? :-(

I had my leep procedure done on the 8th almost 2 weeks ago. The discharge is normal. My Dr. told me I would have brownish coffee ground looking discharge. This is from the medicine they put on your cervix to keep it from bleeding after the procedure. You might still get some bleeding. Usually if you start to soak 1 or more pads an hour call the doc. I didnt have any bleeding but I also got the Depo shot that day also idk if that migh have something to do with that. After a few days of the smelly blackish/brownish discharge it changed to smelly yellow/tanish discharge. There was so much coming out during the day I had to wear a pad. Now I am having a clearish yellow discharge that has a faint smell not as bad as the smell before. My body heals pretty quickly so I probably only have one more week of this so 3 weeks in total. I know thats less than most women but we'll see. My Dr. also told me to wait only a week before having sex. I waited a week but when we did it was too early because the black "coffee grounds" were everywhere.
