Have you also had laparoscopy done before or after the procedure? When I had laparoscopy, my stomach became all swollen and bloatty. I called my doctor’s office and they told me that it was normal because of the gas that was inserted in order to inflate the abdomen and move the organs for a better visual effect.
The swelling subsided five days after the procedure. Since this is not a regular side effect of a LEEP procedure, I would have it checked.
You could either give them a call and ask about it or make an appointment to have it checked.

i had a colposcopy done and the doctor wants to do a LEAP procedure now...why would he decide that needs to be done also??

The reason is that your Colposcopy came back with abnormal cells, I have the same thing and go in for the Leap next friday, unfortunately I am in the very small percentage of 10% that it has reoccurred in. This procedure is a breeze, nothing much more than your colposcopy was. Don't worry too much about it, just make sure to go in for regular paps and you will be good!!!

Hi, the past several years I have had numerous papsmears, colposcopy's (3) and now finally a cone leep.
I have a friend who is now pregnant with her second child and she went thru a similar track except that
after her first colposcopy came back, her Dr. decided to send her for a cone leep which has proven to be successful
since she did not have to repeat any other procedures after the fact.
What I have learned throughout this experience is that every person's body reacts differently with these procedures.
For instance, my first colposcopy procedure was really painful while my friends experience was not as bad as I had described.
After that, my next two colposcopies I had were not as bad as the first but I had experienced a lot of cramping.
The cone leap procedure was not a walk in the park, it was painful for me and after the fact, I had experienced bloating for 2 days
and my stomach is still swollen. I had this procedure about 4 days ago. The only thing the Dr said that there will be is a green like
discharge but that is from the medicine they put in after they complete the procedure to help the patient heal.
I have abeen reading a lot online and a lot of women claim that they have the bloating so it does seem like a common after the fact
side effect of this kind of a procedure. They also say it takes up to 6 weeks to heal so the fact that a person would be swollen is also
logical as well as the discharges. It is a bit frustrating because the Dr.'s dont really discuss possible side effects or other things
except tell you that no tampons or intercourse is allowed for up to 4 weeks and schedule a follow up. It is up to the patient to listen
to their body and do some online research to get more information in regards to recovery and aftercare.

I had a LEEP procedure done about 6 days ago. I was wondering if anyone else had burning during urination and had to urinate frequently?
