I had the procedure done March 30, 2011 - and now 6 days later, I too am experiencing a foul smelling black discharge w/ coffee grounds. From reading everyone's posts, I believe it's something that is natural of our bodies flushing out - I wouldn't say right away it is infection - because if it was, everyone that had it would be having an infection, and most likely it is that yellowish stuff that they put on the cervix to prevent further bleeding. I couldn't wait and had sex yesterday with my man - I didn't feel any pain, nor did I bleed afterwards, but I guess we're all different. If I continue to have this discharge after another week or two, I'll definitely be calling the doctor as no appointment was made for my follow-up - Doctor just told me to make another pap smear appointment in 6 months. I was really upset after making that LEEP appointment... I got in the doctor's office, took off my pants, and there I sat, crying as I waited for the doc to come in. They put my legs up, they inserted the 'tooling'... I cried more... they gave me a shot to the cervix of novicane... didn't feel that at all, infact, the biopsy was more painful than this was... I cried more... I didn't feel pain, just scared... They put the 'grounding' patch on my leg, so I freaked even more - my legs were twitching and muscles tensing... looking back I can laugh at myself for being like a 3 year old and I even apologized to the doctor - but we don't know what to expect other than knowing a hot metal wire is going to skim our cervix... all in all, the procedure wasn't as bad. If I have to get it done again, I definitely won't be as upset this time, being that I responded well to the numbing medicine. I didn't have any cramping afterwards and no pain - although at first I did have a yellow/orange discharge - but believing that was from the iodine they used prior to my procedure for steralization. This is my second leep and it was nothing like the first. The first time, there was mild cramping and very little blood passed. This particular experience I had the clear liquid also that constantly flooded as if I was having a heavy cycle. I was told by my doctor that is was fluid from the lining of my cervix.

First you shouldnt be having sex cause thats why ur in the situation that ur in now. 2ndly, tell ur man to handle his business in the shower. He must not care about u or ur health. Im glad my husband has been so thoughtful and understanding about all that im going thru. Sorry the we all cant say the same

Hello Ladies, I know this discussion is over a year old, but I stumbled upon it while looking for information. I had my LEEP done on Monday, today is Thursday (24 Oct 2013) and I can't stand the stinking smell of the blood that I am expelling. Its brownish and the smell is really intense and bad, however I don't have any pain or itching and it has not yet been a week, so I'm thinking its normal blood. Its a good thing my hubby is away or he would be worried or worse disgusted. I was amused by adidas1023's experience. I was also scared that my legs were shaking in the stirrups well before the gynae had injected my cervix with anaesthetic, which only made the shaking worse since it contains adrenallin. The 'vacuum' sounding machine being switched made me stiffen up in horror of the anticipation of having my flesh swiped off with a metal wire. But I had to be brave and do it for future me's health. I have been sleeping a lot and i'm feeling generally tired. I think I will go and get my hair done to cheer myself up. Thank you for having  place to discuss this issue, information is power. Yes I am experiencing the same thing. I only had mine done 6 days ago. I literally keep asking my husband if he can smell anything I'm that paranoid. But it only last about 2 weeks, is it? I'm so grossed out about it. I have another question. Did anyone feel bloated after their keep procedure? I feel like I'm constantly bloated all the time. Just wondering if this is normal.

I had a leep procedure done 5 days ago. The smell is so terrible. I'm really devastated because I can't go anywhere because I'm scared someone is going to smell me. If this is normal, what can I do to block the order from the people around me? I have to sit in class for 5 hours a day and I'm truly self conscious about it.

His urges are not worth your body. If he loves you he will wait.

I also had a LEEP procedure done recently... I jad a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst erupt Christmas morning. My procedure was pn December 29th. I woke up with minimal pain, but bled pretty heavily... Then it went to brown/yellow. Started having a fishy/cheesy odor. Spotted red, pink, brown. Pelvic pain, clammy, clear spotting, abdominal pain. Went to ER last night and had pap. Florescent green came out. Had a low- grade fever. I have an infection BUT the nurse treated me for an STD!!!!! So... That is interesting...

Either my partner cheated, or it was a case of immaculate conception.
