Hi, guys. My friend’s daughter was administrated to the hospital several weeks ago since she had a seizure. Later, doctors began to suspect on Rett syndrome. I am wondering if epi attacks are present in this syndrome. Does anyone know to answer me this? I will be very grateful for such piece of info.

Hello, there. Rett syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects only girls. It is caused by a genetic mutation. Brain development is impaired here. As a result, infantile spasms and seizures are possible. In a word, some epi attacks can happen as an onset. I am not sure whether they continue through life. Maybe you should ask an expert. I hope this will help. Good luck to your friend’s daughter.
