Sorry too hear that, the planets have too line up don't they, Do you know that several of my friends and I never got pregnant when we ovulated? We just kept trying every day - much too our husbands glee!!!! ;-) XD It is a strange thing that happens you know, when you are really intune with your body, you can even tell when you got pregnant - honest!!!!!I wanted too get pregnant SO badly at the same time for each child - they were due on the same date!!!! That I knew when it was that it happened. I suppose that sounds crazy too some, but several of my friends said the same thing. So take your folic acid - helps with fertilization! And good luck!!!

Alright, so I dont know where else to go. I'm 23 years old. my boyfriend and I recently split up. But about 3 wees ago we had sex..twice unprotected. I thought i was pregnant cause my period was late, well I got it, but its not normal it lasted for 3 days and now i'm just spotting. But I wake up in the morning and I have to throw up. I am hungry, but when i go to eat, the smell of the food makes me sick. I've never felt like this, I've been getting small headaches they aren't to bad, since I have had migraines before. I have taken a home pregnancy test that came out negative, but I know i dont have any sort of flu cause this getting sick in the morning has lasted for a week now. I've been researching on the internet about being pregnant, and alot of the sites are saying that if you get your period you cant be pregnant, but i dont know. I am planing on seeing my doctor this week, but i'm freaking out, because if i am pregnant, i'm going to be raising the kid pretty much by myself. I dont think my ex would take me back anyways, but i need some advice because i dont know what to do. I want kids, and a part of me wants to be pregnant, but i dont know. I really need some advice and everyone on here seems well informed on this kind of thing....so please HELP!

My gf is on birth control pills and takes them at the same time every day. Last month she had spotting about 10 days before her period was due, and it lasted nearly a week. She got her period and it was regular. It is now a week before her next period is due and she seems to get a sick stomach after eating quite often. Any chance she could still be pregnant? Also, we almost always use a condom with the pill, although sometimes fool around before using the condom, but never 'finish' inside her.

Dear Tracy and Oh no! I will address Tracy 1st then ohno 2nd OK?

Tracy, women can still get their periods well into their 1st trimester - though they are lighter and less time usually - Due to the fact that you had sex twice unprotected, you could be pregnant and the test you took was taken too early to tell. Your HCG levels have to be high enough for a lot of tests to tell. Another thing I am worried about is you having an STD. Different STD's created different symptoms, so I'm just worried about your nausea either being a sign of pregnancy or an STD. When you see your doctor, have him take not only a urine test but also a blood test. The urine tests in doctors offices are the exact same as HPT's so a blood test can be a better indicator. Also ask him to check you out for STD's. I just want you to be totally covered here. If both come out negative and lets keep EVERYTHING crossed for that. I would think that all of this is nerves and stress and possibly upset from the breakup. Our bodies are VERY sensitive to stress and can even mimic the stages of pregnancy!! So please let me know what the doctor says OK? And good luck hon!

Now Oh no! Good for you for using a condom and BCP!! IT is because of this great foresight that I can guarantee you she's not pregnant!!! BCP's are infamous for making periods wonky and sometimes making women nauseaous. A lot of times, the different formation and drug ratio of the pill she is on could be too harsh. So she will need to be put on another one. So just tell her this, when you are stressed about being pregnant, it can actually make your bodies mimic the symptoms of pregnancy!!!!! So she is NOT pregnant. And continue ALWAYS using a condom OK?

Good luck and outcomes to both of you!

Hi i am going to the doctor tommorow . But I just wannted your advise because you seem to know alot about this and you get straight to the point. i had my last period on the 11th of may (11 weeks ago) and i am having all the sighns you have above (nausea untill i eat something) accept cravings. If i am then i will be pleased to keep it. i am getting married to my spouse in sept of next year. so keeping it isnt a question. but it wasnt expected and i smoke cigs. we usually use condoms but here latly we just stoped using them. and i dont need the whole speech that that wasnt smart. i knowit was dumb and imature of us. the only thing is that i was doing some reading on the internet today and i saw that alot of the symptoms could be ovairian cysts. well like i said i am going to the doctor tommorow so i will know for sure then. buti would just like some inputt from some one els. thank you for any thing you can tell me.

Hi hon: It is VERY hard to tell from just symptoms! There are more and more women getting ovarian cysts, but it just doesn't happen like that! It is usually with several months or weeks of pain and feeling full and swelling etc. Nausea can happen at any time for anything. BUT if you are usually regular and all of a sudden you have a lot of the above symptoms then I would hazzard a guess that you are pregnant.

Actually I want to put my 2 cents about being pregnant. MOST of the drugstore tests are EXTREMELY accurate and that's why more and more clinics will actually charge you for a urine test! If you go to your doctors and say the HPT showed positive, they take it as that! Also more and more women are still getting a "period" well into their 1st trimester, though it is lighter and shorter. I disagree about assuming you are pregnant....... you are probably not! IF you are having unprotected sex the chances are VERY high that you are pregnant. IF you are using contraception then you are probably not! The "Natural Method" or not having sex when you are ovulating is about 60% effective - so that means that 40% of people doing it this way end up being pregnant. All the body needs is 1 sperm to become pregant.

Another point I totally disagree with is not having symptoms before the missed period. MANY women tell of the swollen sore breasts, the back ache, the pelvic and hip pain, the nausea, the headaches etc. In fact many women will actually know well before any test tells them they are pregnant. It ALL depends on WHEN they became pregnant, which can happen at any time of the "month"! Doctors urine tests use the exact same chemicals as the upper brand HPT's and some of those can actually detect if you are pregnant or not BEFORE your period.

So if you haven't taken a HPT then your doctor will give you a urine test tommorrow. IF that is negative ESPECIALLY after you have been without a period since May then I want you to ask for an ultrasound - to see what's going on. And good luck tommorrow, and IF the answers don't come to you ask OK? Good luck and health

Hey guys, so I'm 23 years old and have been with my bf for 3 years- I'm on birth control, but we don't use condoms or anything else. Okay, so the past few months I've really gotten in shape, been working out, and eating better- I felt great, lots of energy! Then last week I started feeling really nauseous, crampy, constipated, and tired. It got to the point where I took like 4 days off from working out and actually took a nap during the day- something I haven't had to do in a really long time.

My extreme nausea subsided, but was replaced by a nauseous feeling that strikes me at random times (usually during the morning and late afternoon), however I never throw up. Then yesterday I noticed that my breasts are getting swollen and my nipples are very sore (my bf jokingly grabbed them and I just about smacked him). I woke up this morning exhausted and nauseous again so I figured I'd get some advice. I was thinking that it might be PMS symptoms but I usually don't start my period until 5 days into the placebos, so I still have like 9 days before my period starts, and these symptoms started a week ago. Plus, I've never had sore nipples before. I've also been having back pain. At first I thought it might all be because I've been working out a lot, but I felt great for months and then these symptoms just came from out of nowhere, and they've continued even after I took a break from working out. I just feel very unlike myself and my emotions are going crazy- I start crying over stupid stuff. Plus, I'm really hungry all the time, but when it comes time to eat I'd rather not because nothing sounds good- I'll make it and eat it but only because I know I have to eat.

I'm not so much worried about being pregnant because the bf and I have great jobs and we're very committed to each other, but I know that the sooner you know, the better. So because my period is still about 9 days away, I think it's too early to take a pregnancy test. Any advice? Could this be something else?

Hey, sorry if this posts ends up in the wrong place, I'm totally new here. Please go easy on me :-) Here's the situation: I have been on Depo-Provera since June 8th of 2009. For the past six weeks or so, I've had really constant unprotected sex (with ejaculation inside the vagina,) so I'm sure I had sex during ovulation. Anyhow, I'm getting pregnancy symptoms so hard and I'm getting super irritated. It started about a week ago, when I found that I wanted nothing more than to sleep for the entire day. I started getting random nausea that usually went away after I ate, but came back at arbitrary times. I thought hey, it's probably just my birth control being a jerk. Until I was in the dressing room one morning and saw swollen blue veins ALL OVER my chest to the tops of my nipples, holy c**p. I've taken three pregnancy tests, one was invalid, one was negative and one was a possible line but I'm really not sure.

My last period occurred on June 6th. Since July 13th and for the past two and a half days since, I have had on and off spotting that ranges from dark brown to very light pink in color. It's not consistent like my actual periods. I have not had an actual period since June. Yesterday I was vomiting and I had a headache I've never experienced before (like, searing pain and pounding blood vessels through my forehead) and ended up sleeping for 17 hours straight. I discovered that the smell of my deodorant now makes me sick to my stomach and the smell of ketchup hurts my nose. My right side of my uterus and the sides of my breasts have begun to throb in pain pretty constant. This rules.

So, should I just write this off as the Depo being a yucky drug or should I actually be concerned about pregnancy? Has anyone else been through the same deal and ended up pregnant? How much damage is Depo-Provera capable of doing to a fetus?

Dear Sylvie and Silver Shoes: I will answer you both but one at a time OK?

Sylvie - I would really hazzard a guess that you ARE pregnant, There is one test called First Response that states that you can take the test 5 days before you period. BUT this all depends on WHEN you became pregnant. THAT said I believe that from your symptoms if you are indeed pregnant you could take this test now. Because the HCG levels are strong enough to detect, due to the fact that you are having such strong symptoms. So take a test now - in the morning, and see. IF it says negative that doesn't really mean anything right now. You will then have to wait till the 24th to take another. Let me know the results OK?

Silver Shoes - you are a bit more complicated %-) You could be having a reaction to the Depro OR you could actually be pregnant. Wait 2 more days then take another test. Get a better brand that says YES or NO OK? Some of them is like reading a science book! ;-) XD The thing with Depro is that it CAN have MAJOR hormonal effects on you - similar to being pregnant - so it's a hard call. So like I said wait 2 more days, take a test in the morning and then let me know OK? IF it's negative then it will be about the Depro, some of them can take up to 3 months for your body to become accustomed to them.

So good luck and health to both of you and let me know!

I had my last period on the 9th April 2009, had sex on the 30th of April and condom split, took the morning after pill the next day.Had a few days bleeding on the 7th of May. Had exams around this time and have experienced absent periods before (once for 4 months). However started having frequent urination, began to stress out that I could be pregant, did not get a period or any bleeding since the 7th of May.Waited until the 26th june to try a Clear Blue Digital Pregnancy test which was negative..Lost my job since then(more Stress on top of Stress:().However still no period so I tried another Clear Blue digital test on the 1st of July..still negative..Had an appointment with the doctor on the 9th of July..told him exactly what was goin on..and he mentioned the bout of absent periods from May to Sept 2007. He got me to lie up on teh bed and feel my abdomen..asking if there was any pain..and he typed in my notes "Abdo N". He has told me to come back in a months time for blood tests(thyroid, anaemia..etc)..as I have no other symptoms and by the sounds of things I'm just workin myself up.Had stated that the Morning After Pill can affect cycles afterwards..

I am anaemic anyway so the fatigue and general tiredness is a norm but having checked the internet several times I am just adding to my stress.

Intially not as worried after speakin to the doctor...and was feeling very relieved..and my girlfriends have been very supportive and understanding as has my partner. However the day after speaking with the doctor I began to experience Nipple Tenderness...and very sore at that, as well as constipation.

Have had no nausea!Sore breasts only began last week...Possibly PMS symptoms????

Concerned as my partner and I both 23 are just NOT ready for children yet...at this point in life we still have to finish university. Both coming from strict Catholic families in Ireland we cannot tell our parents. Are sensible and mature enough to have taken the precautions and have both decided on an abortion should it arise that I am pregnant, but cannot leave it to late!

Have scheduled for blood tests to be carried out tomoro to put my mind at ease.
Is there a slight possibility that I could be pregnant?...or can my body be mimicing signs because ive scoured the internet convincing myself....

Should 2x Neg Digital Preg Tests taken 7-8 weeks after intercourse be wrong as well as a doctors opinion????

Hi hon: I LOVE my dogs! Like REALLY love my dogs! So What I am about to tell you should put your mind at ease! IF you ARE pregnant I will give you my dogs!!!!!! That is how TOTALLY sure I am that you AREN'T!!! ;-) XD A lot of women have similar symptoms after Plan B! You not only used a condom - which granted split - then you used a PLAN B pill which wehn used within 72 hours stops by 99% the chances of the Egg becoming fertilized! Thus the faint bleeding on the 7th of May!! So then with ALL the stress you ahve been through PLUS you tricking your brain - with the Plan B! Then with everything that has been going on and you reading things on the internet - STOP doing that by the way!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!! You will start thinking you have Chinese Chicken Uterine Polyps!!!!! LOL I'm not even kidding!!

Clear Blue is a VERY good test, it's one of the top of the line tests. ALSO IF you were pregnant you would be 70 days along and believe me honey your doctor would have DEFINITELY felt it and you would have definitely shown positive on your test by now. Abdo N - is Abdominal normal!!

If you are prone to Anemia then this would have HUGE affects on your period. Your body is a WONDERFUL thing and will protect itself at all costs. Technically your life doesn't really depend on having a period or not. So your body has a meeting and decides what can they give up for a bit to help with the rest!!! And the 1st thing it will drop is your period! Actually our bodies are so wonderful that if we TRULY believe that we are pregnant - even MEN!!!! - we can get the symptoms of pregnancy - it is called an "Hysterical Pregnancy" That is how fine tuned we are to stresses!

So relax have a Guiness!! ;-) XD It's good for your blood too!!!!! And just know that both of you have been responsible adults and you will still continue to be responsible OK? So you WON'T GET MY DOGS!!!! The tests were right and the doctor is right too!!! So enjoy the summer and each other - just not so "Vigarously"!!! ;-) XD

Good luck honey and all the best to both of you!
